Boost start is a way to reach more rapidly 293Km/h. In normal acceleration You rapidly reach almost 270, then slowly reach 293, if you don't brake or hit anything.
Timing accelerator and gear at start, speed can rise directly to 293 (depending on the quality of your moves): if done at best this could mean about 1 second less in the first round, and/or 1 second less every time you have an accident and restart from 0Km/h (this one isn't very useful in a score attack
