Well, problem with my mother card is finally solved (in fact I bought a new PC). Sorry for the long wait ...
I've tested the game, and I completely agree with Sawys on this point :
sawys wrote:
The actual rule encourage to be good at first races instead of be good to finish the game and i prefer a driver who can finish it (the game is so hard) instead of the one who finish in 1st place at the 1st race.
I also think the actual scoring is silly and also a little bit complicated ;
the best example to compare with is "Trash Rally" (trally) ; we use a scoring based on times + nb of races completed, even if racing points are also displayed by this game, and the result is that inputs are clearly ranked by skill like that.
I would like to know other opinions before any change/edit (also we have some playbackability problems to solve there, even if I suspect the problem to be a question of OS used).
Tommi ?

I agree for adopting Trash Rally scoring for these games. Current scoring is unfairish and very confusing. I might be able to help with playbacks Phil, since I've got xp and 98...Notice that many do list their times at description-box so playback might not even be a necessity.
How about like this:
F1GP:
Code: Select all
<b>Scoring:</b><br>
Number of finished races * 1,000,000 - Milliseconds (include qualifying races)
<p>
Example:
Lost finishing race 3 out of rank
Race 1 : QR : 25"982 - TR : 1'25"242<br>
Race 2 : QR : 30"647 - TR : 1'39"939<br>
Race 3 : QR : 28"338 - TR : 1'34"640<br>
Score = 3,000,000 - 364,788= 2,635,212
<p>
(Milliseconds is Seconds * 1000)
F1GP2:
Code: Select all
<b>Scoring:</b><br>
Number of finished races * 1,000,000 - Milliseconds TOTAL TIME(hall of fame time)
<p>
Milliseconds is Seconds * 1000.
F1GPSTAR:
Code: Select all
<b>Scoring:</b><br>
1,000,000 each checkpoint/goal passed - Milliseconds TOTAL TIME(only completed games)
<p>
Milliseconds is Seconds * 1000. <br>
There are total of 8 checkpoints/goals in a completed game.
F1GPSTR2:
Code: Select all
<b>Scoring:</b><br>
1,000,000 each checkpoint/goal passed - Milliseconds TOTAL TIME(only completed games...you can't see exact total time unless you finish the game)
<p>
Milliseconds is Seconds * 1000. <br>
There are total of 8 checkpoints/goals in a completed game.
Oookay???
Not sure how these rules fit for f1gpstar, and 2?

The only thing i am not agree is that when you finish the game at f1gp or f1gp2, the time displayed doesn't count qualifying races but if you count it, i will be happy too

Sounds good ; and I agree with Tommi to count qualifying times (like we always did, the example especially coming to my mind : neodrift)
I'm away for 2 days, I will edit special rules + scores on monday if everybody is ok ...

Changed f1gpstar and f1gpstr2 above.
I was hasty and edited abovementioned special rules. Players can change their scores now and save Phil the trouble.

Special rule on f1gp2 is not correct because it must be like f1gp and actually, it is not the case
There are qualifying races too in f1gp2

Thanks for special rules, Tommi.
I've just made an addition on f1gpstar to avoid any confusion, as total time displayed on the HOF seems to be, for each finishing input, total time displayed on the race screen + 0"03.
I would like to know if it's the same on f1gpstr2, but the only finishing input is yours, made with wolf100, and unfortunately I have same playback problems again :

Desync on 3rd lap for me
All other scores edited and confirmed.

Heh, well spotted!
f1gpstr2 doesn't seem to have same problem, hof and race screen are same.
I didn't count 4 lap times together and see if they add correctly. But time should be taken from hof anyway, since all 4 lap times aren't displayed every time in the end of the (finished)game.

Correction : not +0"03 everytime
http://marp.retrogames.com/inp/e/b/5/ge ... olf102.zip
Race screen =4'34"66, HOF=4'34"70 ... so +0"04 there
Special rules adjusted
