What ever you do, never ever watch the movie "The man who fell to earth(1976)". You might get bored to death.

Horns of the Nimon was probably one of the first ones I ever saw. And yes, it was probably around 1986 too.

Are those still Tom Baker episodes? He was definitely my favorite Who, though I kinda like the new guy. I used to watch it all the time. It takes some big ones to pull off what they have done with such cheesy effects, but the show still was almost always entertaining; today, everyone else seems to let special effects replace a good story...very sad.

Yeah, Tom Baker.

For a lot of us in the states, he was the original Doctor.

I liked Peter Davison as well. After that I sort of lost interest.

It was a sad day when Ramana left the show. She was my favorite sidekick, followed by Lana/Tara?(memory fades)...the one in the 'fur bra' outfit. Dr. Who is the original sci-fi soap opera. I believe Ramana (forgot her name) was actually married to Tom in RL, which really enhanced the on-screen chemistry, as the emotions seemed true to life. Guess that also explains why she left the show. Wait a minute, I thought the British/Europeans maintained civil relations with their ex's? Yeah, I'm sure that's on a case by case basis.

I might also add, that I did my part to bring more episodes of Dr. Who to PBS, by giving regular donations during 'Who Week'. PBS is funded by in large part by viewer donations to purchase programming, with only a small blurb(usually text/logo with a voice over reading it) at the end of some programs that also had corporate sponsors. I think PBS must be pretty popular with oil companies, as Mobil is the only sponsor I recall...you know, the one written on the Tombstones.

The latest Doctor Who series rock!

Christopher Ecclestone was great (he's also 'The Invisible Man' in Heroes), but David Tennant is better I think.

I'd say Tom Baker was my favourite Doctor though, maybe just for nostalgia sake.

Mind you, it's great to see the Daleks finally overcome their inability to climb stairs....."ELEVATE! ELEVATE!"
