Which games had that decathlon? How do u prove your scores? U send a videotape? How can some1 participate?
U became first, but among how many players??

tk2007 wrote:Your joyset looks good but has the joystick at the left and both joy & buttons r high.
Where did u find it?
Currently I use this joy:
http://www.ultimarc.com/ultrastik_info.html
And buttons from Ultimarc too:
http://www.ultimarc.com/controls.html
but I prepare to apply some japanese buttons to my control panel for faster shooting (Sanwa buttons).
Other sites with arcade parts:
http://www.happcontrols.com/
http://groovygamegear.com/
http://www.massystems.com/
Japanes parts (Seimitsu and Sanwa):
http://www.akihabarashop.com/
and:
http://www.rs2006.co.jp/index_e.html
But you must get big order from RS2006, if not costs can be high.
You can easy find X-Arcade in web:
http://www.x-arcade.com/
but their arcade parts (buttons and joystick) are low quality,I don't recommend their products.
Other ready AS with HappCOntrols parts:
http://www.hanaho.com
And:
http://www.slikstik.com
They have weak support, you must wait very long time for shipping, I don't like them. Better don't buy on SlikStik.
Other way to buy arcade parts are members on BYOAC forum in Buy/Sall/Trade section:
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com
They have all parts Europe/US/Japanese.
Go to these sites and look how joystick and buttons are installed on ready control panels. Joy is on left side always
Otherwise in web are more arcade shops.

Yes

Of course Vectrex was mainly targeted for righthanders.

Heh, I did that too, now I switched to right hand...after giving it some thought.

tk2007 wrote:Sorry, I should have specified which pacman. Neil's score of 379K with keyboard was on ms pac-man. Neil has since chosen to delete his replay from MARP for personal reasons, but the score was verified by a lot of players and is strictly legit. You can probably find the replay still floating around somewhere if you look hard. Keep in mind that on a real machine, Neil has scored 859K and reached the kill screen, so for him 379K is not that great a score.
379.000 r easy for me too. But I dont think he could get so with keys... Did u see that with your own eyes? Its not useful to find this playing somewhere, the point is to see him do it with the keys. Impossible 99.9%(I keep 0.1% because only God is entire

) and any1 who can get 300.000 or more will agree with me.
If he scored 859.000 this mean he got too-too many bananas. The final screen is about 137th stage and u need hours to reach there...
I saw that link, speaks about a TG world record score of 922.810 (its just a case of how many bananas u ll get) How could we watch/verify this playing? Is it in some videotape? Are these tapes free for the public or secrets of TG?
Neil said he played the 379K with a keyboard, and I don't think he's a liar. He's got a very good track record with the gaming community, including superlative performances both live and with MAME replays. I don't think there is a 99.9% chance he is lying. I think it is more like a 99.9% chance you are wrong. If you think he is lying though I suggest you take it up with him on the TG forums where he usually responds to PM's to his "nrc" account.
859,000 is below average fruit for a kill screen game, not "too-too many bananas". Oh, and on an arcade mspac the final screen is not always stage 137, it can be between 133 and 141.
The TG Ms Pac record is now over 922K. TG arcade records are either submitted on video or witnessed live by one of their referees (or both). In general TG does not release copies of videos or replays submitted to them. It is up to the individual submitter whether they want to release the video. A lot of MARP members (myself included) are not particularly fond of submissions that are not available for public scrutiny, but those are TG's rules.
And you may not like it, but the moon still exists when you aren't looking at it.

the problem of aiva update is translate names of players.
For update score and name of the games I can do ALL in 5 days I think, but to translate names of players is a very big problems for me.... is too long... too time...
I think I update in this month 12 issues but without names of players
about zero team or denjimakai I not have informations (I don't know these games)
for donpachi.... 71m are from SOF WTN the great dodonpachi series player. Thi man run to 75m I think.

tk2007 wrote:tjt wrote:TK2007 did you never saw arcade machines? 90% of them have stick on left side...
No of course not, joy is at the right.
tjt wrote:If you are righthanded then you faster shoots using right hand. Left hand for move stick.
Oh boys... I really cant belive what I read
really.. I m shocked
What is more important? To shoot or to control your hero in the game?
For most SHMUPS firing faster is more important, and for most of the other games that have multiple buttons having that control on the stronger right-hand is more important.
tk2007 wrote:If some1 is right-handed how will control with left hand??
Very well thankyou.
tk2007 wrote:If u r righthanded, do u play pacman with left hand?
On an actual arcade machine, no I use my right hand because there is no firing required and therefore my stronger right-hand can be used for the movement.
tk2007 wrote:Well, because some of u cannot press rapidly with left hand this doesnt mean that we, the right handers, must use joy with left!
Follow your own advice and don't speak for others. As a right-hander, I'm like Tommi and prefer to use my "stronger" hand for the firing and my "weaker" hand for the moving. Here in NZ, and on all the games I've played in other countries including the US, Brittain and most European countries where I have played arcade games, almost without exception the arcade manufacturers have the joystick on the left and the buttons on the right. If this was not the case in your part of Greece, then that is obviously the exception and not the rule. Perhaps the arcade owners where you played were left-handed and set the cabinets up to suit left-handed players?

Boys...let us not forget that this is a thread about Metal Slug 3
Maybe mods should transfer all posts about joysticks in another thread.
(Btw, of course the case which is more important, stick or buttons, is out of the question for any medium brain)
Theres a new score in mslug 3---> 3.348.870 points.
Only until the end of 4th stage. Havent enter 5th yet(where the big points r) What is the difference with the encrypted version?
Well, a bigger score coming...Be patient, its on its way...
But... where is my good friend Ghemant?

When shall we see a score from him too?

You might have a point there.
I'm getting more and more convinced that whether you use right or left for buttons has something to do with size of the brain...

Who me?
But I d never begin a discussion for something so axiomatic/palpable.
Like u discuss if earth is round. For me, any1 player who uses stick with left is not a serious player (exept if hes left-handed) and he could never make a great score. If u know some1 call me

(great scores only, f.e. 300k in pacman or 2 millions in mslug3).
