Err...Tommi. Before I vote , a quick observation.
Regarding HS/T+F. In the arcades you didn't have the luxury of playing the game with buttons and then using a joystick for certain events. Bit of a bad example there I think. I know that it will show as a single press of a button either way, but still, bad example. Talk about keeping things as close to the arcades as possible.....
Cheers,
AL

Hey! Point 1 is wrong and without sense. I thought yesterday about it.
Code: Select all
1.) At Marp, it is not permitted to use more than one key or button in MAME for the same arcade machine button simultaneously.
Example1: You map keys Q,W,E,R,T,Y to hypersports running button 1 and smash them simultaneously, to get unhuman button pushing speed ---NOT OK
Example2: You map 2 buttons and joystick to hypersports running buttons...you use joystick at all events, except at skeets you use buttons.(you don't use joystick and buttons same time) ---ok
Example3: At Tron you use analog joystick for movement, but at lightcycles you use keyboard ---ok
Why wrong?
Because you can connect more than one button or key to one main line (buttons inside control panel or keys inside keyboard) and then this rule is useless. If someone will be want use more than one key for the same arcade button he do it, without define keys in MAME settings. And you can't check it! because every button is the same button!
I think better will be delete this rule

If you go wiring multiple buttons, and press them simultanious, it's likely analinp will detect that.
+ Because someone could cheat, is not a good reason to leave a rule out.

I don't talk about writing multiple buttons in configuration. I talk about open control panel and connect all buttons to one. It's not detectable.

I was talking about same thing. You might get away doing it, but there are chances analinp/other player would notice that.
Good luck.

I never used more than one key for firing or something (for better is shoot two fingers on one button). I only talk that here is way where point 1 is not detectable. Any analinp don't detect it, because you press one button only.
button A = signal 1
button B = signal 1
button C = ......
.......
You want to made rule which have no sense. But this is your problem only.

Rule has sense. Cheating/wiring does not.
but there are chances analinp/other player would notice that.

Thinking about "external" devices, Destructor is right... so I think is needed to re-write (adding samples, adding something

) the rules.
Hehehe... coming soon... I think MARP will need to accept INP only if the player attach one camcorded video of the fingers/hands of the player, like some games at Twingalaxies (I think!).

I think you should see
