Annoying popup

Post by The TJT »

I hate this "claim your free gifts" popup window that occasionally pops, when entering MARP. I can't even close it...only way that works for me is to go to "task manager"-"end task"...Who put it there anyway?

I'm using NT 4 + IE 6

Why Chris M has not registered here? Don't leave us Zwaxy!!!!

Yes, it is damn annoying. I get it plenty of times when visiting the main Retrogames page. So much for one popup a month. :(

To close it, click the 'click here' at the bottom of the popup.

I can tell you to press alt+f4 to close the window if that shows up.

I think it's ZTNet's or Emulation World's policy - I don't think there's anything either of us can do besides changing servers...

Popup ads (and ads in general) suck. But with Mozilla, I never see any unwanted popup windows (I found that a lot of popup blockers for Windows/IE tended to break ALL window.open() JavaScript stuff, not just the ad popups).

Yes, I'm on a Mozilla propaganda trip today ;)

you meant ZTNET makes hidden popups in the websites it hosts and it doesn't reimburse marp for webfees for the clicks it produces? that's pretty lame. i always thouhght they were what was supporting marp...

Vintage Gaming actually blamed their ROM shutdown through ZTNet (who "used" the IDSA) so they could monopolize the market, or that's what they think... let's think about it though:

We have about... anywhere between 1/4 and 1/2 of a gigabyte of hard disk space that we're using, probably quite a bit of bandwidth, too. Few people would sacrifice that for only 400 hits / day... something to think about.
