Well - I tried to make this one of the more fun events at MARP, and I'm hoping that everyone enjoyed this event...
But, obviously, there are probably flaws that you have picked up. What ideas are in your mind that could improve the Olympics that are slotted to go again in the Summer of 2003?

Yes, it probably would be worth it to cut down on the total number of games.
Or maybe get a random selection of working games (say 16 or so), and call for volunteer judges on each game. Maybe even have one or two random games from each genre. Or something. Just a thought.

Yes, fewer games. It's hard to have good competition when there's that many games in such a short time... but then again you don't have to play them all. And still, it felt like the criteria on which games were picked were too loose... coordinators picking games they're good at (come on, who's going to touch Slawek on ZooKeeper), and all these different versions of MAME required... it just seemed chaotic.
Haha Barry, you changed your sig already? That's what I get for mentioning there was a wolf in Contra Hard Corps.
I still have no good ideas, so I may as well throw in the masturbating coach from High Impact Football. GO COACH GO

I agree with BBH on the coordinator thing. Everybody could choose to be coordinator on a lot of games he's good at and that way win a lot of medals and maybe even the overall individuals. An easy way to avoid this would be to disallow coordinators to play their own games. What it still wouldn't catch is two buddies, each coordinating the other one's favourite games, though...

OK - I don't know how to quote people on here - so be it.
Limit on the number of games coordinated. Let's try 3 unless there's a shortage. There's ten segments of games, and I'd like to have at least 30 games (3 / segment). If there's more, then we should start limiting. I guess we should have an absolute maximum of four.
As for me, I was going to voluntarily pick games that weren't of my taking for Oly 2 anyway... but I could easily say that you can't be in first place on MARP to coordinate a game. If not... well... let's take BenJos's comment:

We can always bring in a "selection committee" to take care of that problem... just as long as it's better than the NCAA version, right? What it still wouldn't catch is two buddies, each coordinating the other one's favourite games, though...
