We've moved on over to irc.lazynet.org. You can actually connect to irc.marpirc.net and it will take you to a server, thanks to seymour

Server is irc.lazynet.org (will connect to a random server on the network), and the channel is still #marp.

I'm not sure why that wasn't working, but try
/server irc.marpirc.net to connect.
