I've tried recording this game in three different cycles (mame33, .36, .37) and I never have any luck with the playback. I did, however, notice that there are confirmed scores for this game in both the .33 and .37 cycles. What am I missing here? As soon as I have to hit the F3 key, I'm screwed. i can't figure out what cycle uses .nv or .cfg to store language information, or anything. Need help from one of MARP's techies.

Incidentally, thank-you to all of the well-wishers who welcomed me back.

How do you record Qix properly?

You should never hit F3 during a recording, that's a big no-no... the
.inp doesn't store F3 presses, so nothing's going to happen. For the
early 80's Taito games you have to press F1 several times to advance
through the Service Mode menus to start the game.

Oh, welcome back.

As easy as that? Works in all versions? Guess we'll try tonight.

Oh, btw BBH, I'm testing out three new gamepads--Hammerhead FX,
Logitech Rumblepad, and Microsoft Advanced Sidewinder or whatever.
Any personal prefs? I think I'm leaning towards the Logitech.

I dunno, I need a new pad myself
Hell, I need a HotRod. I don't
know too much about the pads that are out there because almost all of
them have stupid-assed directional pads so I don't give them a second
look. Why is it so hard for one company to make a directional pad for
PC as simple and as effective as the SNES?

Sorry I can't be of any assistance

Ahhh, now there's the MARP I remember leaving. Glad to see you're as
mature as ever, Tommi. How old are we now?

Nice to meet you, Joey. You've certainly started cleaning up on
Bosconian since arriving. Can you play Sinistar as well?

Darn, you've got me pinned.
Yea, I am pretty good at Sinistar,
i've been playing around since the age of 3 (yea, in the cockpit
version baby!, I started playing Bosconian for the first time in Nov.
2000). Highest score in the Arcades was about 600K a few years ago
and i usually got around 300-400K average. Haven't been able to play
it since i have a damn slow computer.
But once I get enuf money
(round March) I was wanting to buy a Bosconian machine (the RARE one,
which is the 'Bosco' rom) and build a new computer (whatever Athlon
is out there around that time). Nice to see you back and playing.
Whoopa!
