It's easier to call this "snpb - random"
Sorry if this doesn't sound professional like I did everytime in the past, and that is, a topic for every single recording, but...
they keep coming.
I hope it doesn't happen, but, I'm confident there will be more posts from me for this topic in the future.
This week, Iron Horse.
http://replay.marpirc.net/r/ironhors
According to mameinfo.dat, in mame 0.190 Iron Horse version K was added, and previous ironhors was renamed to ironhorsh.
So, his score http://replay.marpirc.net/inp/b/e/e/snp ... olf103.zip should also go there.

I told you, I saw it coming.
Last Mission (US revision 8 )
http://replay.marpirc.net/r/lastmisn
As read here:
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=16225#p65473
this was added with mame 0.198 hence saulon's score http://replay.marpirc.net/inp/f/3/f/snp ... olf103.zip should be moved to lastmisnu6

Re: It's easier to call this "snpb - random"
Part three.
WEC Le Mans 24 (v2.01)
http://replay.marpirc.net/r/wecleman
According to mameinfo.dat on 0.202 wecleman was renamed to weclemana
hence this replay by saulon http://replay.marpirc.net/inp/1/a/4/snp ... olf103.zip should be moved there.
Slightly off topic note:
WEC Le Mans 24 (v1.26) [weclemanc] is missing from "clones" in MARP even though a leaderboard for this clone exists and has a top score; when viewing wecleman, page says there are 2 clones instead of 3.

Re: It's easier to call this "snpb - random"
Since mame 0.103 (exactly A HUNDRED versions ago!) tons of romsets were renamed and added. Just imagine how many mistakes saulonpb has done for all this time with so many (useless) uploads, I limited myself to check/report only those cases where he managed to place himself first with a "first try" replay. It's impossible. No functional/allowed game would have been left empty since ten years, only new versions recently dumped and added to MAME that became the new parent romset for any reason.

Moved these three uploads to their rightful place.
[Extra note: 0.103 was released almost 13 years ago. It's more than a little out of date.]

Re: It's easier to call this "snpb - random"
And special rules added for new parents, just in case.
Re: It's easier to call this "snpb - random"
honestly don't see why you accept 13 year old versions, there are so many potential expolits, bugs etc. in such versions simply using them raises suspicion, also accepting such a wide spread just means more work for anybody verifying before you even consider trying to remember all the set renames fro 13 years ago.
sure, newer versions have higher requirements, but PC hardware has plateaued to the point where there's not a HUGE performance gap between something from 5 years ago and something today, even in poorer places it isn't difficult to get a capable machine.
putting the limit at 12 versions back would keep replays to a version within the last year, which is more manageable, and more trustworthy.

Re: It's easier to call this "snpb - random"
Not commenting on MARP policy here, but this problem has occurred to me lately as well. After 20 years of MAME/MARP, with all the ROMset family reorganizations, there's no way to even know whether you're playing the right game if you can use any MAME version.
Does anybody know if there's a good reference available anywhere documenting the history of such changes? MAWS used to have such information but it's been gone for many years.

Re: It's easier to call this "snpb - random"
... mameinfo.dat?
You download and set it up, open MAME, select the game of interest, and read its history. In a few seconds you know if romsets have been renamed and when, but also if CPU speed/refresh rate changed, bugs have been fixed, 8-way controls changed to 4-way etc.
This is what I use when I suspect a replay doesn't belong to the proper leaderboard.

Re: It's easier to call this "snpb - random"
Didn't thank you yet for this, so thanks Barry.
Here's a new one, Toki no Senshi - Chrono Soldier.
http://replay.marpirc.net/r/tokisens
http://replay.marpirc.net/r/tokisensa
http://replay.marpirc.net/inp/3/0/a/snp ... olf177.zip
I didn't check the replay yet, but it's claimed as wolf177 and current tokisens has been added in mame 0.202. The prior tokisens is claimed to be either a different or hacked version, and was moved to tokisensa (prototype?).
So the replay should go there as well. tokisensa is not marked as clone of tokisens in MARP.

Re: It's easier to call this "snpb - random"
Thank you Phil. Here's another one: Apache 3.
This replay http://replay.marpirc.net/inp/5/5/c/snp ... olf177.zip
was submitted to apache3a http://replay.marpirc.net/r/apache3a
Apache 3 has three revisions in MAME. Right now, rev F is parent [apache3], rev G licensed Kana Corporation [apache3b], rev E [apache3a].
In mame 0.200 rev G was changed from previous [apache3a] to current [apache3b], so saulon's score recorded with wolf177 has to be moved to apache3b. (which again is not listed as clone)
