rom questions...!

hey,

when i go rom searching, sometimes i realise that some roms of the same name vary from 5kb to 80 kb, depending on where you look.
should they all work the same? how comes some need 20 times more info than another?

Probably the difference between merged and split romsets. MAME will search for ROMs in the game's zip first, and if not found, will look in the parent's zip also. So, you can have all the needed ROMs in the zip, or just the ROMs that are different from the parent.

(By zip, I refer to either .zip or .7z files)
