I hope I've picked up games where no one of you is very strong, so the competition will be fair.
Guzzler is not very famous, but I think is very nice and Star Force ... may be the best golden era's shooter.

Wow! I knew marathons were all the rage these days, but two games at the same time for 10 days?!? That's taking things to the next level!

In 2006 play off we had 3 games in 2 weeks ... and the games were very well known by some of the players

hi chaps,
starforce is quite a samey run of the mill vertical shmup, lost their grip on me in the mid nineties. but guzzler looks fun, spitting water everywhere!
anyone got any tips about guzzler, so i have a fair chance of competition? any help would be greatly appreciated. i watched an inp, and when the central item is got (like a power pill), the dude did not eat any red baddies, while it feels like he should. why's that then?

do i have to match the colours of the baddies i kill to the colour of the bonus letters? seems impossible to get it on the 2nd sheet!!!

No, you just have to have the "selection" rectangle around an unclaimed letter when you water some of the enemies. You have a limited amount of control of the lettering based on which direction you push the joystick, at least that's what I've managed to work out on my first few games this evening. It's not a game I've played before so it's all a learning curve on this one. At least Star Force is similar to other vertical shmups so that makes it a little easier to learn.

It's just so disheartening to not get enough points to even beat the 30k you need to put your initials in... that's a fairly high initial target score to beat to even get on the leader board on the game!!
