Up'n Down - Checkered Flag

Hi:

I was playing some "Up'n Down" using WolfMAME 106 and encountered something that I had never seen before, not even as part of the MARP record performance.

In the 10th stage, on my last car, I encountered an opponent car carrying a flag on top. Normally these flags bear the colour of one of the remaining flags you need to capture, but in this case it was a black and white checkered flag. I unfortunately died before snagging it but I did save the INP file and made a snapshot.

Anyone ever see this before ? I know that the title has a few secrets such as objects that appear in some of the holes in the ground depending on your points achieved, dancing monstes, penguins, but this is one I have never seen before.

Should have realized this earlier, but the cars that normally carry the coloured flags are carrying triangular-shaped flags. The car I spotted is carrying a squared-off flag.

I am willing to bet that had I captured it this would have ended that wave...gut instinct only. Hopefully I'll see again at some point.

Can you share the INP? or did you try load the INP and try to catch/pass that car? Just a testing suggestion.

I'm not sure what randomly causes this to come out, but back in the day I do remember that it does indeed complete the stage if you can get that flag.

Here ya go, TRB...it is at the very end of the performance, level 10 or so.

What I do not know yet is what causes this flag to come out. I've played the game well over 1000 times and have only seen it this once.
