Donkey Kong sound effects in 106

Hi. Is there a patch or something that fixes the missing sound effects in Donkey Kong for wolfmame 106 and older? Mario's footsteps are silent as is the kong's thumping sound when he jumps at the beggining of the stage.

Might need to find samples for that. Later versions of MAME properly emulate the discrete audio hardware.

Thanks for the reply. Do you by any chance know if there are even samples for those particular effects? If so where would one look?

Sorry, I was waiting to see if there were any objections :) I'll post it here, if there are objections, either a mod or I can delete them. I think they used to be hosted at one of the MAME sites (not a ROM site), so I don't see why it should be a problem.

Thanks CKF! Much appreciated. Problem though....they don't work. I put the zipped file into my "samples" folder and unzipped the wav files right into the root samples folder, started the game and nothing happens. No walking footstep sounds or Kong stomps

They should be left zipped, in the Samples directory. Make sure MAME is looking in the right place for your samples. Go to Options->Directories and check there. I grabbed that zip file right out of the Samples directory and it works on mine.

Got it working now CKF. I had to realize that you need to right click on the game then go to its properties and enable samples there. Good lookin' ma nickle :mrgreen:
