...and don't forget to set the NVRAM directory to NUL, either add -nvram_directory NUL to the commandline when recording and playing back, or open mame.ini in a text editor (Notepad will do), and change the setting for nvram_directory to NUL.

Not important for this round, but it was for the previous two rounds.

You can, of course, use record.bat and playback.bat

record <ganename> <inp filename> [extra MAME options]

eg: record slapfigh slap -window
Will start Slap FIght in a window and record input to slap.inp

I wish they could check my inp if everything is correct because I had to use other than the mame emulator because I worked well with the other mame emulators as in my case wolfmame 1.106
I hope to answer as soon as possible.

Not sure how to get the HELPER to appear, BUT! Ive heard there is a 1up hidden somewhere (you have to shoot something/somewhere specific) after he has appeared.

At arcades time, I was not a good shmups player (and I am not good today ), however I remember many friends that maximized (9,999,999) scores for example. I remember they never used wings, and no matter where they die (also in advanced loops, with very fast enemies bullets), they ever recover the good weapons and speed positions, just with skill!

Well, the 1UP from helper exists... I remember just a bit... you need to change to SHOT (or continue using SHOT weapon) near the start of the "blue tubes" area, to helper enters the screen. I also remember not shooting in an specific part, and to force helper to pass in an exact position (near the start of the last 2 long tubes on the left side, however in the right side of the screen). Just after get the 1UP, the players changed to LASER weapon, to get many points in the little green plant (there are one in the ending part of the blue tubes). By the way, these green plants are the best place to increase scores. There are other plants that appear with the BOMB weapon, and some other squares that are discovered by HOMING MISSILE weapon.

That's what I remember Slap Fight has many cool secrets.
