mame 143 ??? Chad cvb?

Hello

I have some questions about some scores i have seen here recently... They are all from this player Chad *cvb*

He is playing with Mame 143 i have looked all over the internet for this i could not find this anywhere.

He has 11 first place scores within the last couple of days and he's the only one that has ever recorded any scores for all these 11 games.

I have tryed using these roms on my sets of Mame and none of these games work with my mame programs.

It just is'nt fair that someone can play these games and everyone else can'nt? You could get a million first place scores and no one be able too beat you. or am i just missing something here?

I have tryed too download the verson of mame from here from his scores *get mame* It says it's forbidden?

mame143 refers to the standard MAME release. You can get the binaries from http://mamedev.org/

INPs should also be compatible between MAME and the equivalent version of WolfMAME, and vice versa.

One day, I'll get around to correcting the URLs for regular MAME binaries.

I found this mame 143s how do i play anything with this?

mame0143s.zip is the source code, you'll need the compiler tools to build the executable binary from that.

Look for mame0143b.zip instead. http://mamedev.org/release.html

ty for the respond but none of the games this person played worked with the mame 143b.. I think i need this mame 143s .

mame0143s.zip is the source code that when compiled generates the binaries. It will be no different than using the binaries in mame0143b.zip

He has to record with secure version to take 1st place, rule 3b.
I have edited his descriptions, I will zero the score when I will be back from holidays, if he doesn't improve in the meantime.

TY Pat for the respond... Seems like he is the only person able too play these games. I guess they are new too Mame though this Mame 143s verson.
But it's not fair no one else can play them and he keeps getting first places.
I would love too play them on the versons of Mame i have on my puter but that is just not Possable.

Yep people will always record with new versions of mame with new games and new versions of games only available on that version.

You will need to use a front end or learn to use mame.exe with the command line, do you need help with using mame.exe?

but i'm hesitant to confirm 1rst place regular mame recordings when someone with wolfmame should probably record them to take over 1rst place legally. regular mame i think stores the time per frame which makes it nearly secure with wolfmame now, doesn't it?

I've tryed downloading this wolfmame 143z or whatever the letter it is now.. It does'nt come in a zip file my puter does'nt know what too do with it when i click on the files.

7zip is a very good (popular) installable compression/decompression program. It works with zip files and any other general compression files that are out there. Sorry, it was implied that this decompression program is required for wolfmames143 and beyond. Once you get that installed, your computer should recognize 7z files and be able to decompress them.

ty i was able too download the wolfmame143 but i was'nt able too play most of the games that chad played.

I was amazed that games that worked with 142 don'nt work with 143.

That's the big reason we label each upload by what version mame is used, it's impossible to know what they've changed between versions, a lot of the time it's just enough to screw up playback.

I've played back all of chad's games that need screenshots, i'm been trying to get some time to upload the screenshots, haven't got around them yet, the "boring shooter" is pretty decent.
