I've recently watched some good old movies that have nice mountain views in them. I thought that maybe Chad would find these interesting... I recall you're into mountains/climbing?
The 4 movies I've recently watched might be a bit rare and maybe you have not even seen them. So here are my recommendations:

1. The Great Silence (1968)

Here's a great Spaghetti Western, Klaus Kinski making a memorable role as the villain. Recently I've watched a load of Italo westerns and this one truly is a lost gem, a must see, a masterpiece.
Brutally violent scenes spaghetti western style mixed with beautiful scenery and stunning music by Morricone. Sort of something between Leone's dollar trilogy and Eastwood's Unforgiven.
9/10 on first viewing

2. Jeremiah Johnson (1972)

A very nice, quiet western from Sydney Pollack, starring Robert Redford as a mountain man in beautiful Rocky Mountains scenery in Utah. This movie reminds me a lot about Costner's Dances with Wolves.
9/10

3. The Eiger Sanction (1975)

(watched this on tv so not sure if above torrent is fast or not)
An ok agent/action movie with a nice 70's feel about it. Starring Clint Eastwood, George Kennedy, 70's blaxploitation star Vonetta McGee(better looking in The Great Silence!) and sexy Brenda Venus as "George"

8/10 ...I gave little extra for great climbing scene in the Alps...and Eastwood...and the girls?

4. Death Hunt (1981)

A no-bullshit-movie as one would expect from early 80's title starring Charles Bronson and Lee Marvin. Some nice white mountain scenery here too.
7.5/10
Everyone is free to voice his opinions on these movies.
Happy climbing,
