kicknrun settings

Post by Phil Lamat »

0.92: Added Z80 (6MHz) CPU4. Added dipswitches 'System Selection', 'Difficulty', 'Playing Time' and 'Number of Matches'

Before Mame92, we were playing 6 matches on kicknrun & clone mexico86.
In mame92 has been added dip=nb of matches, and default of this one has been set to 2 !?

Here is an example of finished game with matches=2 :
http://marp.retrogames.com/inp/a/8/d/ph ... olf123.zip
Played here only 1st and last match (harder) of the usual game, and difficulty on 2nd half of 1st match is already harder than it is when you play with nb of matches =6.

Do we keep 2 ?
or shall I edit special rules to allow 6 ?
I prefer second option (many inputs already there with 6 matches)

Opinions ? Matt ?

If 6 matches is already an established setting, then I think we should stick with that. 2 matches doesn't make for a very interesting recording, and also increases the chance of ties.

After playing several games yesterday night with 2 and 6 matches, I agree with you.
Nb of matches = 2 is stupid and unnatural (in what other game do you skip directly from stage 1 to final stage ?).

I edit special rules now.
