DaiDaiKakumei (Japan) [dai2daku]

Post by sawys »

Hi :-)

I tried this game and i don't understand why the special rule was made like this :
SCORING :
You can play as long as your total is positive.
Score = total when you decide to stop (by pressing ESC).
I explain.

I made a few recordings and i began to have ideas for the scoring system.
When you finish in 1st position, you score 100 pts, in 2nd position you score 50 pts, in 3rd position you score ?, in 4th position, you score -450 ... Until the 5th position where you score -2000.
The other points earned depends on the combinations realized and the other points lost depends on the leaving cards when you are in 5th position (-200 pts by card).

So i propose to have a system scoring which could be related to sporting games.

If you win an handle in 1st position, you score 100.000 and you add the total of points at the end of the handle (positive or negative).
If you finish an handle in 2nd position, you score 50.000 and you add the total of points at the end of the handle (positive or negative).
If you finish in 3rd position, you score 25.000 and you add the total of points at the end of the handle (positive or negative)
If you finish in 4th position, you score 10.000 and you add the total of points at the end of the handle (positive or negative)
And if you finish in 5th and last position, you don't score anything and just add the total of points at the end of the handle (positive or negative but surely negative ^^)

And i noticed in one of my recorded inp that the game changed after 3 handles (1st in 1st position, 2nd in 2nd position and 3rd in 2nd position). The color of the field of the game changed from blue to yellow.
I lost at the 4th handle (the 1st handle of the second game...)

What do you think about that ?

Special rules are from me.
I was the first to play/test this game, and wrote this quickly.
Your scoring seems too complicated to me, and I'm favour to keep the in-game scoring which is not so bad.

The only point is : do we keep on ESCaping, or play till we're zeroed and keep the highest reached ?

Keep the highest score reached should be better in my opinion.

If the games continue forever (there is no final game) this does seem very similar to a gambling game. If you continue on and you suck, you lose points. If you know you are ahead and are able to stop, then you should be benefited from knowing your "limits" of when to stop. Having a forgiving scoring system to pick the best of 10 games played, seems contrary to the multiple credit/game recording rule.

I've played some games now, and I'm not strictly against "highest reached" ; but "score when ESC" is not so bad too.
Let's go on with that, or maybe a vote ?

By the way, somebody knows what forces the bloody -200 you got sometimes ???
