Well this was the best tournament I ever saw, period.
<p>
I also got to met Tommi and his friend Esa Kokko. Esa was one of the
strongest Joust players I ever saw in a long time. He got 426,000
on 5 men, and I congratulated him on a fine game.
<p>
The only other comparable player is our own John "JoustGod" Rhodes,
who recently scored 413K+ at the Deca200.
<p>
My own skills are still improving however, and I managed to score
648,000 getting to wave 42, my best score in 12 years. Naturally I
videotaped that game. My final death by a shadowlord sitting on my
head was largely due to playing the sitdown version, as it's difficult
to judge the top of the screen and the extreme right.
<p>
Tommi destroyed all competition on Track N Field with 91,560. He
uses 6 fingers on the buttons (3 per button). Unfortunately Tommi
didn't play Marble Madness, as the controls were not too good.
<p>
Once again, Steve "The Krog" Krogman destroyed the competition on
Galaga by an insane margin. One wonders why anyone bothers to play
Galaga when Steve is around. He got 11.8 million in 7 hours of play.
<p>
John Marks won the Tron title with 1.8 million.
<p>
Here are some other notable scores:
<p>
Donkey Kong Bill Mitchell 655,200
Joust 2 Mark Longridge 421,600 (I was really dumping tons of tokens into Joust 2, with less than stellar results)
Moon Patrol Pat Laffaye 137,000+
Frogger Pat Laffaye 229,000+
Carnival Fred Pastore 214,000+ (the guy hardly ever misses)
Pole Position Chris Ayra 66,710
Ms Pacman Darren Harris 910,700
Ms Pacman Chris Ayra 910,300
Dig Dug Mark Longridge 2,679,620
Arkanoid Zack Hample 1,650,000+
Robotron Dwayne Richard 463,000
Jr Pacman Rick Fothergill 619,000+
<p>
I'll post more scores later if I can remember them.
