nice web page Barry. I love how you show the MARP, TG, and Gamest high scores for each title.
For fact though... top score for Mario bros here at MARP was playing at MAME default setting...which is difficulty=easy. It is given in the description even.
The second place score here(
) is played at TG settings. It would not surprise me if a couple are able to top my currently posted score here at TG settings. I see george has already gotten very close. hehe
The game plays easier at that default setting versus TG settings you are using for T10.
A simple rules question...

Is that supposed to read that no recording can be submitted beyond 48 hours after you recorded it? IOW, submit it within 48 hours after finishing play...To encourage good sportsmanship, no recording can be uploaded 48 hours after you recorded it.

That's right, to help avoid sandbagging.LN2 wrote:A simple rules question...

You should use either the Service Mode DIP Switch or F2 to restart, F3 typically isn't recorded in an INP as it is a function of MAME rather than as a result of changing an input port.
There certainly used to be a way in the source to mark an input as a reset, but I thought that was removed quite some time ago. I'll have to look through the source at some point.

yes, at least going back to 0.56 the F3 presses are not recorded.mahlemiut wrote:You should use either the Service Mode DIP Switch or F2 to restart, F3 typically isn't recorded in an INP as it is a function of MAME rather than as a result of changing an input port.

F1 and F2 presses are recorded so using those to negotiate service mode is fine in a recording. Note you will have to repeat the sequence for each recording when changing settings through the actual game's service mode.

that is truly masterful level of play for the game if played legit(no save states used, or pausing etc.)...although the leeching gets semi-borderline at spots. It was still awesome to see the game actually has an end with apparently a 2.2 million bonus given at the end(?). 2.2 million? that is an odd number.Weehawk wrote:http://marp.retrogames.com/inp/noo_romp ... mame60.zip
I couldn't help but notice after playback it shows the average fps was 3.3!
hmmmm.... if that showed 60 fps then I wouldn't question it.
My guess is 100k x lives remaining.LN2 wrote:that is truly masterful level of play for the game if played legit(no save states used, or pausing etc.)...although the leeching gets semi-borderline at spots.
