NOOB needs help

I've been using mame32 for a few years and as you all will know recording and playback is quite easy but since finding MARP i need to learn how to use wolfmame and older versions of mame so I can watch some of the amazing displays of skill.

My problem is I'm new to DOS and need help I've spent 2 days straight trying to playback Novice@Team2ch.jp score of 5,347,810 on R-Type Leo (Japan) (rtypelej) using mame60

I've managed to set the rom directory but thats about it I can play the game but I have no clue how to record/playback

What do I need to change and if possible can I have step by step instructions

If your MAME .60 executable file is name mame60.exe, and you have the ROMset rtypelej.zip in your ROMS directory, and you have unzipped his rtype.inp file to your INP directory, then you would type:

mame60 -pb rtype

...at the DOS prompt to play the recording.

Unfortunately, Hisa, though, does use tactics usually, not only skill.

Thanks guys I'm all sorted out now just one other thing can I change where the inipath file is saved to as for all the differnt versions of mame saves it to the same path i.e C:\Documents and Settings\Home\mame

Different MAME versions use different ini files. Better have separate ini files for every MAME version I think.

Mame rtype -playback rtype
