Super Street Fighter 2 & clones - Default Settings

Just after my score I noticed different "default settings" on SSF2 and clones. "Turbo 1" is default speed on SSF2T and my 905,500 is OK.
To help confirmers, I think special rules would be a good idea here. On WOLFMAME 0.106 (and probably since WOLFMAME 0.78), the DEFAULT SETTINGS are as follow:

And about the "bug" I reported, the same in wolf106. I will try wolf78... if memory serves, it was less constantly there, or never.
Any idea how to avoid or how to diminish this bug? Sometimes the INP & WLF simply not exist, or was not overwrited. This is the worst situation!

Yes, if MAME crashes during emulation, the wlf file won't be written as it simply doesn't get to that point (it's written upon exiting from MAME).
As for the differing difficulty settings, that's common Capcom practice, having different default settings across different regions. It should also be noted, that in ssf2t and clones only, that the difficulty scale varies too, meaning that in Japanese versions, difficulty level 6 is equivalent to level 2 in the US versions. You'll find in the PC version of ssf2t that it includes all 12 difficulty levels.

I just got 1,304,200... w78. Balrog smashed my Ryu! I played 1:30 hours and no crashed.
And I just found in my notes that I got 1,509,000, wolf88, INP, 11/2004, "Good start, poor final (bosses). Vs Akuma". For sure I will improve it soon.

Certainly with a number of CPS-2 based games, the Japanese version is the easiest, the Europe and US versions are set a bit harder and the Asian version is even harder. Depends on the games as to how much difference there is, but Asian versions of fighters typically default to the hardest possible difficulty.

1st - Because TG allow "free select" there.
2nd - In the most CPS2 games, "Speed 1" is very slow IMO. Generally I like to play on "Speed 2" or "Speed 3". However, sometimes "Speed 2" on SSF2T is very fast to me get a good score on the game.

Most games should run at about the correct speed, as they will usually be timed by the systems VBlank signal. The differences with these games that have faster speeds are that they will ignore that signal and just run as fast as they possibly can. CPS-2 systems have wait states on RAM access, meaning that the CPU will take so much time depending on the type of RAM it is accessing. The 11.8MHz that MAME uses for the 68000 is just an approximate average and is by no means accurate. Actual CPS-2 systems, as far as I know, have the 68000 running at 16MHz.
