500Mhz. Wow, that's old. :)

Just as a little test, I tried Shock Troopers on my 6 year old Athlon, just for a laugh. It ran at full speed, 100% - 59/59fps (Athlon 950Mhz, 32MB TNT2 M64, Yoper Linux 2.1.0-4, SDLMAME 0.106u1)

So, no desperate last minute attempts at 503,710 on Galaxian?

wuzel: please include the .wlf file with your .inp submission.

ZB: sorry, but you have to maintain a 95% speed average for your recording to be accepted. Unfortunately, for a computer with a speed of 500 mhz, there's not many games that will run in MAME 100% at fskp 0 these days. We've tried to select games that we thought everyone would be able to run at a good speed, and have had to throw out some game choices that were a bit slow. We don't want to exclude anyone, but MAME gets slower and slower and a 500 mhz really doesn't cut it for most games now. Heck, here's a true story - I couldn't enter K3 a few years back because my P2-450 wasn't enough to run the qualifying game at a playable speed, so I didn't play in it at all. It happens. If you don't have access to a faster computer, you may be out of luck. :(

anyway, there's less than 24 hours left, so if anyone else wants to enter the tournament, get those recordings in now!

Hmm, hadn't thought about that in a while. Nah, I think I had my fill of galaxian, I'll leave it to Mr.Whelan. (come to think of it, I should ask the Brits if they dabble in MAME, would love to see someone put up a crazy missile command score)

It's good to see more people entering. Hopefully there'll be more before the deadline.

I guess this qualifies as a fighting game and there'll be no more the rest of the way. :)

more bad news for wuzel - the 1,219,500 score only plays back to 507,000. This could be a cause of the memcard problem, or possibly a non-default bios, but I wouldn't know since the .wlf file is absent... we'll accept the score as 507,000 which still qualifies, unless of course a new inp that plays back correctly is submitted before the deadline.
