Wondering why MARP isn't working?

It was really just a matter of time.

Zwaxy said that he has to solve some legal issues. This might take some time. If I understood correctly, the problem exists because some marpers have been playing using illegal roms, such as rare prototype roms.

I guess the big cleanup against illegal emulation has finally started.

I'd heard that MARP's rule against multi-mapping had been legally challenged under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA - http://www.usdoj.gov/crt/ada/adahom1.htm). Since MARP is hosted in the US, it must comply with this law. The story as I heard it, is that a gamer in North Dakota lost all of his fingers except for one in a farm equipment accident, and is protesting that MARP Rule 2.d is a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act since it prevents him from competing on games with more than one button. If this is true, I can only hope the legal action is settled quickly. If you'd like to financially assist in the legal defense of MARP's case, please feel free to send me donations via PayPal.

Oooh, I have a message for him:

I figure there's only a 1 in 10 chance he can respond in kind.

Are you guys guessing, or is there some real legal trouble? I just assumed there was an update going on or something broke. It probably is inevitable for everyone involved in any form of emulation to get busted eventually, as it's not like any of us has legal right to have all of mame roms. They'll need some more prisons. :(
BTW, if someone has only 1 finger, they just have to move it faster...wonder how he controls the stick?...does he just sit on it and wiggle? 8O
It's a good thing he doesn't bowl.
Surely, this has to be April fools.

Well, since you go through April 1 before the rest of us, perhaps next year you could warn us about all the pranks coming our way.
