Surplus credits of Saboten Bombers is OK?

Post by dan »

One of this game tips:
A disadvantageous item like the poison mushroom doesn't appear at all if you were inserting surplus credits.

What do you think, ok or not?
At which inp?
Does it make gameplay too easy, is it unfair?

It would be against multiple credit rules of MARP. But then again it could be seen as a way to use a cheat-code, which are allowed at some games afaik(example; extra missiles + points at afterburnerI&II).

I would think not allowed.

Xybots does something similar where if you enter any number of credits at the initial screen then start the one player game, you get the 25 coins + however many credits are in the game at that time.

eg. 25 coins for 1st level warp + 10 credits = 35 coins at first shop.

Sorry,I was not able to explain well.

It is against multiple credit rules of MARP.
But,how about play with only one of multiple credits?

I did not want to say it is unfair but I wanted to confirm whether there is no problem.

*1play of 1credit
*only 1play of multiple credit.(Credits of the remainder is not used)

The latter is a little advantageous to the extent that a disadvantageous item doesn't be put though it is the same one play.

oga and GSY are putting 2credits first.

In that case, is not credit consumed?
I want to know the case where the credit of the remainder is not consumed to
the end at all.

If that's the item I'm thinking, then isn't it worth between 20,000 and 160,000?

I'm inclined to think that it's a trick that doesn't make the game overly easy, something along the lines of the power up codes in Bubble Bobble (and co.)

No it does not consume other credits.

Actually you get the extra coin any time you insert a credit; you don't have to use the warp or insert the credit before you start the game. You can only have a maximum of 25 credits stored on the machine at any time.

For example, enter 25 credits, press one player start. It consumes 1 credit, but you start with 25 coins instead of the normal 1. The rule should be, insert one credit, you start with one coin. It should then be illegal to insert any more credits at any time during game play, because if you do, you get extra coins during the current game (but it doesn't consume the credit you inserted).

I'm not sure if I understand. Maybe you mean: "Can you draw a line between more easy and too easy?"
Well, I don't know the right answer. :)

But my current view is that extra credits would be OK at this game, because 1 credit rule was implemented for other reasons.

Exactly, it is what I wanted to say.
