Idea for Tekken series scoring

Idea for Tekken series scoring
Right now, Tekken games are scored (10xWins)-(1xLosses). Since your name entry in the arcade game is ranked by completion time, I just got to thinking something that would reflect that would be best, such as this:
50000 - (100 x total seconds taken)
If you finished a game in 2'18"32 under this system, you'd end up with 36168 for your score.
138.32 seconds x 100 = 13832
50000-13832= 36168
So in this one, less time would mean more points.

Now I agree that this AoF3 system looks pretty good- better than the original idea above.The TJT wrote:What if you don't finish the game?Malibu wrote:50000 - (100 x total seconds taken)
What kind of scoring is that?Phil Lamat wrote:Something like aof3 scoring would be even better IMO
Score = (Wx10 - L)x100000 + (100000-T)
The (100000-T) portion is a time bonus given for an All Cleared game, with T as time in 100ths of a second.

So, are we talking about special rules for ALL these games:
?
..And do you think that aof3 rules can be used for all of them?
Rules being:
Code: Select all
tekken : -- : -- : Tekken (TE4/VER.C)
tekken2 : -- : -- : Tekken 2 Ver.B (TES3/VER.B)
tekken2a : 86 : Mr. Kelly R. Flewin : Tekken 2 Ver.B (TES2/VER.B)
tekken2b : 95 : Mr. Kelly R. Flewin : Tekken 2 (TES2/VER.A)
tekken3 : -- : -- : Tekken 3 (TET1/VER.E1)
tekken3a : -- : -- : Tekken 3 (TET2/VER.A)
tekkena : -- : -- : Tekken (TE2/VER.C)
tekkenb : -- : -- : Tekken (TE2/VER.B)
tekkenc : -- : -- : Tekken (TE1/VER.B)
tekkentt : -- : -- : Tekken Tag Tournament (TEG3/VER.B)
..And do you think that aof3 rules can be used for all of them?
Rules being:
Code: Select all
SCORING :
Score = (Wx10 - L)x100000 + (100000-T)
W = nb of rounds won [2 rounds to win per fight]
L = nb of rounds lost
T = total time in centiseconds for last match won
(not time when game over, because in case of inputs with same rounds scores, it would advantage the fastest loss i.e. the worst play)
Example :
2-0 , 2-0 , 2-0 , 2-1 , 2-1 [time:5'01"02] and lost 1-2 will be counted :
(11x10 - 4)x100000 + (100000 - 30102) = 10669898

Yes, Tommi, exactly this type of scoring : it worked perfectly for aof3.
I will have a lot of time next days, I will try to test tekken carefully to see if it also works for these games.

And for all fans of my mahjong page

The only link which is ok is the one for WCC in the upper banner ;
I have to fix links in special rules boxes, I will do that very soon

To me, the WCC link, in MARP home is wrong. Are you host ok?

Good. I'll leave tekken rules/scores for you to edit then, if that's ok with you... PhewPhil Lamat wrote:Yes, Tommi, exactly this type of scoring : it worked perfectly for aof3.

(It should be enough to check if they have timer, I can't see why aof3 rules wouldn't be good in that case)

After some (poor, due to my bad skill at fighters) tests, scoring seems ok.
I've edited all special rules for the tekken serie.
Only 1 problem ; there is only 2 scores to check (mr kelly's on tekken2a/tekken2b) but they were recorded with wolf77, rom has changed since this version and I don't get the old one.
Maybe someone could help
(just need detail of rounds won/lost and total time at last win)

What would be even better, would be a timer type score, something along the lines of what is used at HARP.
Perhaps have an extra entry for some games for the time to complete, and a score of number of completed stages. You'd order by score first, then by time. This could then be applied to any games which score by time, regardless of game type.
Something for Zwaxy to work on, perhaps?

Yeah, they would be hardest to find roms, being IDSA protected stuff. I emailed Kelly to edit the scores. However if someone else can playback...Phil Lamat wrote: Only 1 problem ; there is only 2 scores to check (mr kelly's on tekken2a/tekken2b) but they were recorded with wolf77, rom has changed since this version and I don't get the old one.
