f1gp special rule
Hi !
I wanted to know 2 things :
1 - Does the same rule apply to f1gp2 ?
2 - Why the rule isn't like all the others racing games :
number of race won * xx points - time in milli or centi seconds ?
The actual rule encourage to be good at first races instead of be good to finish the game and i prefer a driver who can finish it (the game is so hard) instead of the one who finish in 1st place at the 1st race.
Thank you for the answer

I saw (after finishing f1gp2-a) that the ranking is done with the points and after with the time, so the special rule could be good but i noticed that it mention to include qualifying race but the game doesn't count it in the total time like in f1gp2 (if i don't make mistake).
So if the rule is good then a correction should be done, no ?
And maybe that an editor could include the special rule in f1gp2

Thanks !

Re: f1gp special rule
Now that zarouk send his inp, i will upload another inp where i won only the two first stages with 16 points and so 16.000.000sawys wrote:Okay, i saw nobody want to answer or have the time to do itsawys wrote:Hi !

Do you really think that it is a good way to calculate ?
Finally, i realize that if you don't finish the game, you can't put your name and initials, so the man who finish the game must be in first position and not the man who made the most points without finish it.
And after, everybody finish the game, the points could be counted to make the difference between players.
Please, what do you think of this ?

Yes maybe but for the moment it's a so hard gamemahlemiut wrote:So... wouldn't someone that is good at the game, also be able to score highly on the early stages, as well as finish it...?

One solution to respect the hall of fame of the game should be :
10 000 000 for finishing completely a race + 1 000 000 x nb of points - time in milliseconds
Maybe this rule souhld apply to f1gp but i don't play it before

More split ?
Another question for this game :
It is possible to play in free run at each circuit so does marp sould split the game in each circuit for this mode ?

Not at allmahlemiut wrote:If you mean that you can choose the order of the tracks in which you race, then no, there is no need to split them.
In this mode you run against the clock :p
You can choose the circuit you want to make the best time in 5 laps.
But in the grand prix, you run against opponents to win race and points in 3 or 4 laps.
I think that this mode could be good for real driving competition

There is 4 Courses of 4 circuits in the Grand Prix mode (that's the actual split)mahlemiut wrote:How many circuits are there to choose from? More than a few may make it a bit over the top to split. Might be easier just for the mode itself to be split.
And there is 12 Circuits in the Free Run (see snap)

OOOPS, i made an awful mistake... Shame on memahlemiut wrote:Maybe my maths is off a bit... but I count 16 there.
Bit much to split up really, however. Best idea would be to just split the Free Run mode off, and let the player decide which tracks are best to choose.

Do as you want for the split, but it encourages only on one track we must find the best... I am waiting patiently. I precise that it is the same problem with f1gp and f1gp2.
And for the other point, the calculation of grand prix what do you think ?

Hi !
I finally played at f1gp and f1gp2 separatly and a big difference is that in :
f1gp, you must finish in the 3 best positions to win the race or it is game over and if you finish in the 4th, 5th, 6th position, it gives you points but it doesn't permit to run another race...
So maybe the special rule should be adapted to this situation (see http://marp.retrogames.com/inp/5/9/9/sa ... olf100.zip)
f1gp2 , when you finish the race in the 6 best position, it gives you points and it permits you to run the other race.
Finally, f1gp is harder than f1gp 2 just because of this problem of position.
So finally, what do you think of my previous proposition for calculating the score ?
I will post others scores and specially one on the circuit b in f1gp2 where i finish the game with only few points but where i enter in the hall of fame where is written the time i finally made without counting qualifying races.
