haha, don't go there. I lobbied for a baseball rule to disallow leaning into pitches because usually in "real life" people don't like to lean into pitches and no one cared, lol. not that i don't care about this rule, but if you know anything about street fighter you should know it takes supreme skill to do double ko's... and by the way it is a game :)

- If you maintain the current HOLOSSEUM rules, you will need to change all the MK2/MK3... rules similar to this one, including "double ko" system. And all the other fighting games without score too.
- Not about "street fighter", but about "Street Fighter" (at least in all the SF2 serie) the score maximization need you win 2 rounds and LOSE 1 round. In SFZ2, by sample, if you do it, you will not have a good final score. In SF2 situation, you lose one round just for maximization. In the HOLO current rule, you created an ARTIFICIAL way (double ko) of score that go AGAINST the spirit of the game.

I don't care how hard a double KO is, in fighting games, unless the built-in scoring system works otherwise, the spirit of the game to kick the computer's ass as badly as possible. Sure, if the built-in system favored double KOs that would be what the designers had in mind, so I'm ok with that, but artificially creating this is just silly.
Baseball games are a completely different case since it is the built-in scoring system which favors leaning in. A better analogy would be if you decided to add a rule that gives extra runs for getting hit by pitches on top of the free bases you get for them already.
Why not just give extra points in sport games for how many overtimes or extra penalty kicks you can get before winning?

Only game where it is advantageous to draw a round that I've seen (by double KO or otherwise) is SF2, and that's simply because it allows up to ten rounds per battle. For SF2CE and later, you only get 4 rounds maximum, and no bonus on the 4th round either. In Night Warriors (seeing as I've been playing that lately), you only get 3 rounds max. A double KO counts as a draw for both players. If you lose the first round, then draw the second, it's game over.
Double KO is quite simply a draw - neither player won the round.

Man, are you EVER going to let that one go? I must state again that Super Baseball 2020 has quite a few differences from "real life" baseball. And if the CPU AI is dumb enough to throw pitches at you constantly...Chad wrote:haha, don't go there. Anyway, I'm against Double KO's counting as rounds won. Yes, it does take skill to pull off a Double KO, but... it shouldn't count as a victory. It's a draw. Makes sense to me...
jeeze, the baseball thing was simply a leeching prevention mechanism, that's all you know try to follow with marp rules?
anyways, i respect bbh's and barry's view for fighter's way more than mine, so they should be the judge of what happens here, my main reason against perfects in holoseum was they are not easy to determine, at least with double ko's you can count the rounds that go by, but you have to watch the recording closely and inspect the health bar very carefully for perfects to reward them.

I imagine the confirmer's life is not so good when watch some details are needed to confirm that record, however in all the games is needed some good attention to avoid leechings, game bugs, etc... so I think it is not the issue.
And concerning HOLOSEUM, if you watched my "all perfect" run (against weird AI), you will see (around) how many rounds is the maximum that the game rolls. It is a finite game, and if memory serves it play around 25 minutes max.

Looks like there will be no "double ko"...So if you're trying for highscore, you know now that you don't have to go for double ko. I still have to look at your timer-scoring idea, if it's easy enough to count. I'll try check it out soon.
One small problem with timer based scoring is changing old scores, playbacking them etc.
Summer in Finland is short..(But winter is long, hehe)
Thanks for your patience.

If hard to count time in each round, at least the time remaining when finished the game would be counted, and added to the score. See my inp to understand what I am saying. The TJT wrote:I still have to look at your timer-scoring idea, if it's easy enough to count. I'll try check it out soon.
