hate to burst your bubble on this TRB, but the CPU AI seems to be broken on mame90 through mame94... and by "broken", I mean, the CPU NEVER actually tries to attack you. They basically just sit there and let you beat up on them all day.
as far as I can tell, the CPU does behave normally on 0.95 and 0.96, and 0.89 and all other versions prior to that. (I think... didn't test every single one of course)
so, it goes without saying that 0.90, 0.91, 0.92, 0.93, and 0.94 should not be allowed for recordings here. Otherwise it's a free 1st place since it's not very difficult to beat up an opponent that just crouches low the entire time.

That recording should be deleted...Right Valter?
Current rules for Holosseum
Code: Select all
Score is 10 x (nb of rounds won) - (nb of rounds lost) [2 rounds to win per fight]
Ex : 2-0 (with two doube ko's is 2-0+1-1+1-1 = 4-2), 2-0 , 2-0 , 2-1 , 2-1 , 1-2 will be 13x10 - 6 = 124
So what you guys think, is this "double ko"-thingy good or bad rule?upload description wrote: Perfect (200x2=400). I understood it!
What is that "double ko"???
[advertised 400 but i only count 18 rounds won 8 in championship and 10 extra rounds and there are no double kos, double kos are when you and your opponent go down at the same time, as far as i can tell your opponents didn't scratch you! -skito]
{Sorry... 8+10 instead 10+10... ok! However, the "double ko" stuff SUX... if you draw game is better than simply WIN? My proposal: (WINS x 10) - (LOSES x 1) + extra points (5?) for each Perfect. And Draw rounds don't be counted (0) - TRB}
[uh, you might want to read this: viewtopic.php?t=12184 - BBH]
It means that you could fight opponent without scratch, except when you finish him you get hit same time?
Re: Holosseum
I put it in there because there was someone who did a double ko and i thought it had to be accounted for. They are also more difficult than a perfect, to try to prolong the game at risk of stoping the game. Double ko's currently give you 9 bonus points for each doube ko, but you still must finish your 2 rounds for that match to continue the game. Now that there is a timer in this game (i don't think there was before) that might be a better points attributor. The TJT wrote:So what you guys think, is this "double ko"-thingy good or bad rule?

Thanks, sounds like we can stick with these rules, if nobody has suggestion for much better new ruleChad wrote: I put it in there because there was someone who did a double ko and i thought it had to be accounted for. ...And add something about 0,90-0,94 emulation
I wonder which games are victims...should we deny use of 0,90-94 for all of them?Haze wrote:yeah the s32 random num generator has been removed for now.. so seveal s32 games may be lacking in ai...

Well... I almost-randomly found this game ("almost" due years ago I heard about this one, but never tried it before) and played it. At 1st attempt, I finished losing around 5 Perfects. The other holo inps at Marp I don't watched due different versions than my current. I though something was wrong... or maybe the other don't discovered the "jump trick"...
Well... if I am playing in different situation than other, of course my inp need to be deleted. However, some corrections...
Just kidding!
Hmmm... or now, after exclude the easy AI behaviors, maybe this rules:
I don't know I am lucky or unlucky now?!?!?
Well, just to not put my work on the trash...
1 - Using the 0.94 version, who here is sufficient good to finish the game and All-Perfect???
2 - What is your time remaining when finishing? My is 267.

Hmmm... to finish it at that 'settings'! Sometimes (few times), the CPU attack you... is very hard to do Perfect at "World Champion" (4th opponent), and other extra characters, mainly the 1st Extra. So, your "all day" will be broken... so, get up your ass from the chair and press some buttons, BBHBBH wrote:...I mean, the CPU NEVER actually tries to attack you. I just saw the rules changed, but the 0.95~ need to be allowed.BBH wrote:... as far as I can tell, the CPU does behave normally on 0.95 and 0.96, and 0.89 and all other versions prior to that.
Here you are right... "not very difficult", because is possible to lost one round.BBH wrote:Otherwise it's a free 1st place since it's not very difficult to beat up an opponent that just crouches low the entire time.
Hey... but this is ALL against the "good spirit of the game"!!! Do you wanna see someone marathonating this game??? Forget this "double KO"... no sense this rule! (PS.: I am not sure now if Double KO x 2 is Game Over, but I think not)Chad wrote:...They are also more difficult than a perfect, to try to prolong the game at risk of stoping the game.
At least the holo screenshot at MARP, so I think it was ever there... After I played the 'perfect-score', and very easy to draw it, my proposal was...Chad wrote:Now that there is a timer in this game (I don't think there was before) that might be a better points attributor.

My proposal is some voting to it...The TJT wrote:I think we'll stick with current rules for now...I guess they'll work okayish too.
Guys... TIED being better than WINS is stupid thing...
MARP is not to reproduce the Arcade's experience??? Do you think the developers of the game had your best intends like... try do DRAW... dont try to WIN!!!???

I agree completely. Ties scoring higher than a win, regardless of if it is harder, is not in the spirit of the game.TRB_MetroidTeam wrote:My proposal is some voting to it...The TJT wrote:I think we'll stick with current rules for now...I guess they'll work okayish too.

heh, you're going to call a double ko a tie? non. double ko's are WAY more difficult than a perfect. If you are a good holoseeum player you will get two perfects to win the round anyway making your scoring system maxed out. However, the current scoring system allows you to get more and more points. And to do it for a match you will have to get your own strength down to exactally zero and the other fighter's strength down to zero and then try to force the other person to hit at the same time you do. this is NOT a tie, it requires more skill than getting a perfect to do it more than a few times, and you still have to win the round after you do it to maximize your points.
