Golden axe question (very hard) for ZFZ or Novice

Post by GHEMANT »

at the beginning of 7th stage there's a secret. There are 3 enemies that can be killed at the right extremity of the display (see the image).

Image

Eliminating these enemies you obtain 2,5 points each + 5 points making them fall in the pit.

This technique is shown in zfz's replay (499,0 pts), anyway i've imitated at the perfection but it gave me only 2,5 each enemy.

What should i do to obtain 7,5 points each enemy?

moreover, why zfz gain 7,5 point only with 2 of these enemies while with the third he gain only 2,5?

Sorry for the late reply (I came across this thread after searching the forum for the Golden Axe scoring)

From the screenshot it seems you are not killing them standing on the highest platform. Make sure you do that.

How do you know that?

thanks for answer... however, some months ago I have complete my guide, and now I know all secrets for golden axe.

max score possibile in this game is 594,0 pts (theorist is 617,0 pts) and I make some super play videos (demonstrations) with best strategies.

http://www.aiva.emuita.it/golden.php

as soon as possible I write english version of this guide.

in the photo is not possible kill 3 enemies with sword, you can kill them in the pit only (5 pts x 3 = 15 pts)

I understand very little italian, but that looks like the best Golden Axe guide ever written!
Congratulations for such an excellent work!

I found the guide very useful, especially the videos.
The strenght and damage tables are very informative too (it must have been a lot of work to come up with that) but to be honest, I didn't pay too much attention to them because they look much complex than what I had in my head. Your numbers surely are more accurate, but I'm afraid I will get confused if I count that way.

If you take the time to translate it to english I will be very grateful.

Congrats for your 449.5 replay also, and expect to see an improved replay from me soon!

Oh, and I have found a way to score better in stage 1 (by killing the goblin and the amazzone together). I have done it many times, so it shouldn't be too hard to do it again and show you.

my mame replay is "only" 449,5 because after complete this guide, I started with a new project: aliens, perfect guide ~the way for the 2.000.000 pts~ and I finish to play with golden axe...

But I know golden axe 100% and at the end of this 2005 I promise that I will make a mame replay of 580,0 pts (world record).

english version of golden axe guide will be complete in 15/20 days about.

double KO with amazon and goblin in stage 1 is very difficult, because amazon is on the chickenleg... and the 2 sprites are difficult to align togheter

however, if you have a mame replay or video I want see it...

Well, thanks a lot and I will be looking forward to seeing a score of 580 8O
I won't beleive until I see that!

By the way, what are your thoughts about the current scoring in MARP? (that is, using the sum of each stage score instead of the HENSACHI)

In my current recording in MARP I took the effort to finish the game without dying, but the total score is not affected by that (only the HENSACHI).

I recently understood that, and I haven't yet made up my mind if I will take special care about not dying from now on or not.

mmmh marp rules for golden axe I dislike, because +30 pts for no miss is very important, and a player that finish the game without losing life is very strong.

A score realized without losing lifes can't be compared with a score where one or more life are missed. A No miss bonus must be given at the end of the game, instead losing a lifed penalize the score.

Here it is.
I forgot to keep one bottle for the big guys so I quit, but if you want I can do the whole level 1 perfect.

Ok, I've just found an easier way to do it... you just have to make the chickenleg leave 8)

Edit: uploaded the correct inp

scoring

considering the last rules were decided by 5 voters, TJT might want to take another look at the scoring here.

good strategies, but in this second replay you have miss 1 double ko because amazon is out of the screen.

Aliens is one of my favourite games. I never record inp for MARP because no time. It's excellent game.
I check my notes and 1,2-1,3 mln is no problem but 2mln I don't know how.

sorry, but this is my idea:

golden axe, doesn't need of rules because it's not a game with subjected to infinite leeching or cheats, without taking consideration about the bonus obtained ending the game without losing life means that i won't send any replay at this game on marp in the future
