Elections 2004 - Who should vote? Poll time.
Who should vote? Choose your doom wisely.
You have seven days to vote. If no majority, 0 votes and the least votes over 0 are eliminated, then we vote again.
Idea #1 - Keep the rules as is
Idea #2 - Anybody who posted in the forums this year up to start of nominations (I tacked on the second part)
Idea #3 - Anybody who's submitted a recording prior to July 1
Idea #4 - Same as #3 + minimum of 10 total of forum postings and/or submitted scores over the last year.

...but what are the requirements to be eligible to vote in this poll?!?
maybe we need a discussion and poll to decide that first.
Unfortunately, given the current MARP structure, I think the editors need to decide on the eligibility of voters.
For voters to decide this for themselves seems like a conflict of interest...so all voters would have to DQ themselves based on that.
Now, if the editors have decided to allow the voters to vote to decide on their own eligibility voting rights...that's fine too.
Based on current rules, I am not eligible to vote...so won't vote in this poll...even though I consider myself an active member from being active in the forums.

You're right John... post fixed. Thank you!
Well... everybody can vote. There's really no procedure on how election procedures should be voted on... and we had two votes on election procedures already that everyone voted on. So everyone can vote.

So under idea #4 if someone had a recording submitted prior to July 1st, but had less than 10, they would be ineligible. But they could become eligible by submitting the complementary number of posts the day prior to the election?
Someone please post saying that this makes sense to you. I want to hear it myself.
And I'm just noticing that #2 is so absurd that it needs to be stricken from consideration. If it were to pass, someone who knows a very large number of people could have them all register on the forum and post the day before the nominations start and they would be eligible. Two editors of that person's choosing could then wind up receiving a thousand no-confidence votes and losing their positions.

I think tying voting eligibility to forum posting is just a bad idea all around.tar wrote:yes , my idea lost it's intent in the translation.JTC wrote:#2 is so absurd that it needs to be stricken from consideration.
