Post by DaviL »

I have a question for all marpaholic.
What's the hardest inp you never made ? Not the best, but the hardest, the record that totally destroy you to be realized.

Puzzle de pon...

During Deca 2001 I played that damn game hmm maybe 300-400 times (full games no resets!) and still I could not even break 6mil...I think i got arround 5 mil :( I ended on 15th place on that game..or something... out of 20-25 :P

I must also add that Puzzle de pon was the game I played more than 50% of the time... the rest of the % was for the other 9 games :P

And no, I will never play that game again...

I worked pretty hard on magworm for about a month before I beat negative1's score. That particular version really kicked my butt for some reason.

Had to work pretty hard to break 50k on centtime too. Just to have Don Hayes come along and splat it. :P

My hardest record actually was Neo Drift Out in the "1st round" of the 2nd MAME Championships.

I actually won that round (the only tournament game I've ever won ;) )... after the lead going back and forth a bunch of times between myself, BBH, and Phil Lamat I believe. At the end, I sniped the final lead with about 30 minutes left and won the round. Alas... that record didn't last forever... but about a year or two I guess.

My was route 16.
It is an hard game. I never think to beat Zentac score, because he use a trick (that is not easy) to trap the enemies cars. No much skill, but a massive use of the trick.
So was a great challenger to reach round 9 with minimal use of the trick (and dead near finish the stage!). I never play it again because I was very tired after that. Don't think can do better .. and want.

It felt like Olympic training trying to beat BBH's Satan's Hollow score. I think I ruined my wrist / fingers playing. Took me about a month of practice before I could finally get that 'good game' and even then I died in some really stupid ways. To think, he'll probably just beat it in a month or 2!

Saint Dragon! But I didn´t made a perfect game...

Is very hard to finish with the first life and kill the secret 3rd boss... I always "die" on third boss... for this, I never fight against him. And I can´t arrive at the last boss with my first life and kill him...

Here in Brasilia, I knew only one guy that finished this game on the old arcade times... the prize was 60 coins for someone to finish it. He won!

I took more than 3 months to finish... (using continues and playing on mame! ehehee).
Long life to good games
