Pay attention to rule 3... that's gotten a bit of an uphaul.
BTW... even though the test round doesn't count, I will reward the winner of the test round; this person will become the "champion", so that person will choose the first game of the series, which starts on February 1st. The due date on this will be the 17th of January.

question

If someone chooses Speed Rumbler, can I submit my year-old 6+ stage accomplishment, which no one has any chance of ever defeating?

I would bet they need to be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Well yeah, you should have your recording dated within the contest dates...
And the winner can choose any type of game as long as there hasn't been two games chosen. It'll usually disadvantage the later choosers, but those can easily be 2nd place people if we have multiple winners... which works out, really. But that's just my opinion of course.

Where's the fun in that?MrBunny wrote: If someone chooses Speed Rumbler, can I submit my year-old 6+ stage accomplishment, which no one has any chance of ever defeating? \:D/
Don't forget that WolfMAME 0.78 is supposed to be the standard version for recording, so if you did that recording a year ago... well, maybe if you had a time machine.
Bunny, read above.. Wolf78 is required for this contest. Given that only came out very recently, a year old score or even a 1 month old score wouldn't have been recorded using wolf78 so wouldn't be eligible anyway.MrBunny wrote:I suggest "7. Recordings must be made during the time-trial period and are encouraged to be submitted as soon as possible by the following: " or something like that.
It's too easy to change dates for files anyway so the fact it was recorded and plays back with wolf78 is better proof of when it was played versus the modified date on the inp file.
Ah, I thought this thread was about tweaking the wording on gameboy's webpage so there would be fewer misunderstandings. I thought that #7 could be improved, was all.
Did you guy's see the gng problem at the TG Deca forum? They said "5-men rule, leeching acceptable" without realizing that almost everyone will run out all five men getting about 70000 points a man on level 3, which is much higher score than going through 2 loops of this extremely hard game.

Yeah... I tried to limit it to 1 men only-leech on stage 3, but no one listened to me. Anyway, the rule is set, so there is nothing to do about it
I uploaded a test recording, far from good, using the leeching.. about 400k, just to show how easy it is (no skill involved etc). Leeching scores of 600k+ will be there sooner or later, no doubt about it.
I hope I can finish at least one loop before the deca is over, so I don´t have to rely on that score.. bleh.

Updated the rules to reflect appropriate recording dates and the required version. (WOLFMAME Plus - latest version)

Anyway, even with or without leeching, Innuendo or Davil will beat 600K easely. I don't have time to play until now, but I'll play as we play here at marp (1-man leech only by loop on stage 3) at the beginnig. If someone make a better score than me with much leech, I think I'll post a 1M scoreQRS wrote:Yeah... I tried to limit it to 1 men only-leech on stage 3, but no one listened to me. .

For make 700K with 1-Man leech by loop, you almost must go in loop 3
