Turns out my Dragon Unit replay is going to have to be deleted. I forgot to get rid of the NVRAM folder...it didn't have a file for Dragon Unit itself (just for a couple random Neo-Geo games), but if I'm reading the rules right it's illegal regardless.
Ah well, time to try again!

That only matters if the replay file doesn't properly playback. In the case of this game, it doesn't matter.
The no NVRAM rule was adopted to make it more convenient and in some cases just plain possible to playback an inp/replay file successfully.
For many games, you need the same NVRAM state as you had when you played it. The only way to guarantee that is by not allowing any NVRAM file to be saved or loaded/used so the default NVRAM state of the game is used each and every time you play it...or playback a replay file.

For those whose brains function somewhere in between the extremes of Butter and Rick:
As long as your recording plays back properly without any NVRAM present, you're OK.
The fact that it was present when you recorded isn't a concern in that case.

Drgnunit doesn't use NVRAM.

Well, there's
certainly no problem with recording a game while there are NVRAM files for
other games present!

And there's
certainly no problem with recording a game while there is an NVRAM dir present if that game doesn't use NVRAM!

Well we've certainly determined where there's not a problem.
Now how about those wacky Koreans still uploading on the same account?

And how about that wacky preload uploading a recording that slows down to as much as 26%?
Well, we better take that stuff to the appropriate threads although thread derailing is nothing new at MARP.

I wouldn't trust a single recording by preload now. He should be terminated.
Ok, back to GNG leech-practice...
