SFA3/SFZ3 Query

Post by Mr. Kelly R. Flewin »

I just finished watching some of those absolutely INCREDIBLE runs through Alpha 3 and Zero 3 by Buttermaker and BBH and I got to thinking... they do some pretty serious scoring with Karin and Akuma... but.... does anyone think that from either of these superb players or some unknown challenger, we might see 6 million points or more? [I figure it MAY be possible if you're REALLY lucky and can nail some serious perfects] Or if not 6, at least close to?

Or is someone going to tell me someone recording a score of over 9 million in Gamest or something...?

If I was even half as talented as these guys with Karin, I'd be trying my hand out at a run.. but I never did manage to link the combos quite the way they do... [never did realize Jun and Julie were that freaking easy as BBH shows.... boggles the mind ^^;;]

yeah totally cool recordings. I always wanted to ask this but since i'm a fighter newbie didn't think this question was that important or it had some stupid anwer:

why do people in sfa3 like clones don't play all three rounds to maximize points? I don't see a all complete match bonus or straight bonus anywhere (that i can tell) so it would appear if you are sure you can beat the opponent on the third round (and didn't quite maximize the points in the first two rounds) why don't people intentionally die in the first two rounds like in most other fighting games that don't have straight bonuses?

There's a 'complete' bonus in the SFA series that you get if you don't lose a round. In SFA2 and 3 it gets bigger as you go on, until you lose a round.
