Scoring Idea for Games with Max Scores

Post by evil_angela »

I had an idea come to me regarding some of the games here that have maximum scores. Perhaps something like it's been discussed in the past and discounted, but I didn't see any evidence here on the board, at least, and thought I might mention it.

There are a number of games that have maximum scores, due to them not rolling over but just staying at the maximum. So we end up with multiple people tied for the maximum score. (N.Y. Captor, for example, has 4 people with 9,999,990)

What about adding some sort of a little scoring addition depending on where they achieved that maximum score? Using N.Y. Captor again, the entries each have a different level where that score was reached. Perhaps add some sort of point bonus for the level scored at, say, by subtracting it from 100 in this case? That would reward players reaching the maximum earlier - who likely played better. It would at least reduce the number of ties, also.

Or is this needless complication?

Ideas, opinions, insults?

Hi,

There could allways be some time limit to score or
Use harder settings(5men etc) like at Joust

as I allways say... these things should be decided case by case for a game...first discussion, then vote.

Thnaks :)

Not each player be able to make 99999.... on each game.
There have not needs of altering the rules.
I like doing on my favourite games 9999......, but this isn't possible on each game. :)
