wolfmame inp converter?

Post by Haze »

is there a program that can convert wolfmame inps to normal ones, since the wolfmame ones don't appear to playback in regular mame they're utterly useless for debugging anything, I know converted ones might not playback anyway due to other differences but it would be nice if they stood a chance.. unless they should anyway?

Stripping out the speed stored after each frame shouldn't be terribly difficult. Then it should work just like any other MAME Plus recording, and most games should play back in regular MAME versions.

yep the only hard part is the analogue games, if you are doing it with an analogue game (variable length frames) i can make one that converts it for you (via ben jos's inpreader code). of course if you want to debug a wolfmame inp, barry could just send you the wolfmame patches, the xwolfmame patches would be easier to apply, it is open source after all.
