MAME related animations

Post by Weehawk »

Someone on the TG forums posted these links. I thought I'd post them here for those who do not watch there.

My favorite is:

http://www.powerstrike.net/Tehkan/mamejump.html

They are basically animated music videos featuring a MAME or classic videogame character theme.

Pretty impressive work. Check it out.

Agree, John. This guy has put in some serious work. He obviously is an experienced gamer as he seems quite familiar with the medium he is working with. Nice find.

This one is a gem also:

http://www.powerstrike.net/Tehkan/mamerock.html

Might be an interesting challenge for someone to name as many of the games shown as possible...

And tar......be honest.

You see stuff like this even when your computer isn't on, don't you?

In my mind's eye.

Stylish
A bit childish, but I still like it.

I have something to complain about.
ON the uploads page is an very irksome ,ugly and erratic blue animation of Sonic the hedgehog posted by GameGuru@mametrix.com.
Can someone please make sure this NEVER happens again?
I hate it.
ON a different level of sentiment,
I would like to say nice replay to jtc.
93000 on Quantum.
4 deaths straight in a row!
Two by birds and two by diamonds.

Indeed, these Flash movies are quite entertaining.

The only thing I kinda disliked was the "Here is MAME!" parts of the MAME Rock; it sounds poor and botched. Maybe the entire song should've been left unedited...

Also, at the end of the MAME Story, he kinda dissed fighting games. Sheesh... modern games can be fun too, y'know :\

Yeah from that flash he obviously likes platform/maze type games the most.

I also think he wanted it to stay innocent...and only be games from the golden era...which were all pretty nonviolent compared to later games in the late 80s and early 90s+.

I think a lot of it is just to keep the size of the flash down as well.
The actual audio might sound a lot better than what we get through the flash....something like 32kbps or at most 64kbps I'd bet.
