Two quick questions...

Post by Sickboy »

1. Could some kind soul please post a step-by-step guide to accessing the marp channel via Trillian or similar?

2. Robotron (Solid Blue Label). Using MAME32 0.71, is there a consistent method to ensure playbackability?

Cheers. :)

SB.

I'll answer the first one.

In Trillian open the connection manager for irc-channels. Click on the Add button to add a new server with the following specs:

Description: Random Lazynet
Server: irc.lazynet.org
Country: Random
Port: 6667
Group: Lazynet.

You don't need a password.
Click Ok when you're done.

Now you have an entry for the server. Next you have to join the marp channel.

Make sure the Random Lazynet-server is selected in the server list. Click on the tab "Perform Buffer" in the right side of the window.

Check the box and type "/join #marp" (without quotes) in the text box. Click on the "Set on all servers in group"-button.

Now, at last, you can click the Connect button and join the serious, always on-topic, discussions of your fellow marpers. :)

Good luck, and feel free to contact me if you need any more help.

Um, there's no option to add 'Lazynet' as a Group. Is there an alternative?

Nope. I just don't get the 'Lazynet' option in the Group list. Weird. :? Could it be a problem with the version of Trillian I'm using or something?

You have to enter "Lazynet" there.

Hilariously, after all that, I made it onto the channel, only to find precisely no other people on there.

So I talked to myself about video-games for a bit, and then left. :)

#marp is never empty. You must've been on the wrong network or in the wrong channel.

D'oh. Must have fumbled the parameter thingies, then. I normally use Trillian to connect to another channel, so maybe things have garbled somewhere along the line.

By the way - Alex, did you get my email? :)
