WolfMAME Plus 0.71

Post by mahlemiut »

Hopefully I haven't missed anything from the (somewhat messy) source package.

Contains the features from AlphaMAME minus encryption, and adds a bit more. Not to mention that it's based on MAME Plus too.

Well that;s all fine.. and it quite frankly rocks... but the question then comes... if I submit a score with Kick ass WolfMame Plus.... can someone with Alphamame block my ass? If so it's gonna suck ass to have to switch between 2 diff vers.. one for games .71+ and one for everything under it ... but I'd understand and do so...

blocking is over thanks to nelly, i'm sure he's getting a nice woody for that. we'll just be going with trust, and pride for recording with wolfmame. oh yeah, when is the wfmame submit option going to be added ? :) oh and what's with the hitting escape and return to quit mame, i guess that's a plus feature.

Ya should put that as a major announcement on the MARP page...

One thing that bugs me though, is I can't use my joystick in WolfMamePlus... it just REFUSES to co-operate... meanwhile in Mame32 and Alphamame32? Not a SINGLE problem.. ah well.. ^^;;

Yes, that's a MAME Plus feature, which is disabled when you're recording (ie: ESC = quit without waiting for anything)

cool Barry....do you mind if I perhaps try and port this to MacOS X?

I have built the ongoing macmame project from sourceforge successfully(couple weeks ago.. the first 0.70 one) so I think I could likely go through and incorporate the wolfmame code over into it.

It will be a tad tedious cuz so many files to confirm are identical or not identical and then to see if differences from the mame version differences or a mac vs pc specific code thing...but it's quite doable.

It would require a little work to the GUI as well to add the additional wolfmame options necessary.

I'm not saying for sure I'll be doing this...but it's very tempting to tackle this. I might even end up with a mame for mac that has cross-platform compatible inp files for many more games.

Go right ahead. I just hope I haven't missed anything in the source package.

Both versions should be on the submit page too.

Link removed.

This version is the same as 0.71u2, but with numerous rand()->mame_rand() fixes. It would be useful if it could be tested to find what works and what doesn't. I've attached the affected drivers below.

http://mahlemiut.marpirc.net/wolfmameplus-071u2-2.zip

Added XORs for (all from CPS2MAME):
- 19XX: The War Against Destiny (Japan 951207) [19xxjr1]
- Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara (Euro 960619) [ddsom]
- Capcom Sports Club (Euro 970722) [csclub]

Added my updated Sega Megatech driver.

Also, removed the previous 'randtest' version, this version still contains them however.

And Pat, ddsom and various other games (not just CPS-2 games either) need to be moved. There is no excuse now. :)

Can you email a list of what needs to be done? I have a few splits to do as well.

Hi mahlemiut,
What is this new ddsom all about?

Is it a later version of ddsom (and therefore needs to be called ddsom, while the old ddsom is now ddsomr1?)

Or does it need to be called ddsome?

Thanks,
Kranser.

Yes, it's a more recent Euro DDSOM, so ddsom -> ddsomr1.

As for a list of needed changes... that's going to take a while.

But right now, I can think of ddsom -> ddsomr1 and chukatai -> chukataj.

Not really sure as to which version these changes where made.
