Read on a post (which is locked) about the 3 breath cheat... It basically said that the third breath has to be exactly when you come upfrom the water....

That would explain a lot - but I can't believe that heheh... is it right? I thought i was f*****g up somehow, cos i always breathe 3 times, but rarely get the 'cheat'

Is this game that unpopular that there are no really high scores?!

Will get scores for this uploaded soonish, but I spose no one plays it hence such low scores

Hyper Sports (read TJT) is beyond me , but i'm gonna blame a cordless keyboard that has button-recognition issues

Yeps, HS trick is true. Took me some tries too to succeed at that first time, timing has to be so perfect. Have done it many times though... I just do after going under surface 2 fast taps, and try to time the third one right. Ummm, if I remember right it works only if you start with simultaneous push to both "run" buttons. Not easy to succeed at trick, maybe 20-33% with practice?? Worth a try anyway, if swimming qualify for round x seems too tough...after succeeding there comes devilish skeets....and after that evenly devilish horse.

P.S. When I played the game first time in...about 15 years.... I did not remember weightlifting bonus -but somehow after the lift my hands just smashed both buttons without thinking it -and got bonus

yeah, the skeet is what always ended up ending my run at Hypersports.

I tried it with a normal keyboard, and i hit it right about 75% of the time, but it's impossible with a cordless one (logitech itouch)... The problem is i very rarely get sub 50s swimming (average just over 50, no breath cheat) ... skeet shooting is a bitch (moreso again cos of the lag between me pressing the button and my keyboard deciding to tell the pc to do it (might just be making excuses tho ) ...

Also is there an easy! way to get 19m+ on long jump... my best ever from back when i played the real thing was high 18m

Annnnnnd does anybody regularly get the apple bonus on archery? (cos that's a bitch too )

Long Horse i find (relatively) straighforward, most of the time i just run til he hits the floor, i get 2 out of 3 good jumps that way.....

And on TJ isn't there a bonus you can get somehow? I know there is one in track and field long jump, but i can't remember the one in this

Triple jump right angles: 35,41,45 only way to get 19+ meters +good speed +exactly on the line +timing between jumps(leg throw).
Yes, there's 3000 bonus too, but you get it only if you qualify at 3rd jump and make perfect angles at line, if I remeber this right...anyway not something to aim at pointwise.

Nobody get that at marp yet(inp). I've got apples only once. Have to play it lot to get it, I've done many times 4600(1 short), but apples are a rarity -allthough I read at internet somebody claimed he does it all the time;but easy to write, hard to do.
Maybe if you could get same wind everytime could be more easy, my winds vary too much.

If you're a pianist, skeets are more easy -rhythm is the key.

I find timing for jump at horse more difficult at later rounds because you run there faster. Also qualifys are so tough that it becomes allmost luck to land right.

75% at swimming trick sounds a little bit upscale.

Swimming, like i said, i used a 'normal' keyboard and i hit it a lot - but i'm not 'fast' on that - for speed i like the itouch....

Skeet shooting is killing me Was playing earlier and i got past 270k once.. then failed 9.40 @OOPS

TJ will try... 18.80 is my best (on pc !) and the bonus (i think cos i got it bofore) comes when you get the same distance on two consecutive jumps. 3000pts

Talk is cheap, but atm, your highs are better on all but long horse and weight lifting (nvram i mean)

but your inp crashes on my puter on the second round (on skeets) ... well i think its crashing, you normally get more than 100 points

I don't remember which wind I usually got at arcade over 15 years ago, but now playing Mame I never find my favourite.

Does it help you get apples?
How do you time your push? -Just push quickly when arrow changes to point up or before?

Watch that red thing fly by. Of course , for MAME/MARP you would need NVRAM to possibly see this more........

Oh yeah , 'up 3 or 4 ' are the best winds IMO .

p.s don't forget , on Weightlifting , when you choose weight , keep pressing 'jump/choose' button . The bar will flash faster to give you more time to get more speed for your attempt(s)

You bring up an excellent point with those games....you only get that bonus if it's not a new record...which it always would be playing without a stored nvram file...so your score is a tad lower than it really could be.


...but then again for other games...like Moon Patrol, you get a slightly higher score for bonus points earned for being the first to set new records on it for each run....whereas if you already had awesome times set you might not get those points.

I remember in the arcade intentionally resetting the machine before doing a high score run(arcade tracked scores and highest on each game for each month would earn a roll of tokens...max 3 rolls per player..and not a game you had done it before on) to get those extra points.

With respect the 'new record' thing is definately not right. Dunno if I said this above, but on an nvram-less game i jumped 17.92 on the 1st one then 17.92 again on the second. Both were World records and both had differing and definately not perfect angles. .... I got a 3k bonus after the second jump

TJT, i'll do an inp tonight, but I don't know if it's easy to upload? so i'll link to it too. And like i said, i'm no good, but maybe, if i could get past bloody skeets, i'll make top 5 :/

ps... yeah tjt, on archery i wait for it to flip over, and i find +2^ easiest to get apples, i don't think ive ever had them on any other wind either... am i allowed to keep an nvram prior to the recording? ie pole vault points
