Well, looks like people haved given preference to full game scores. But there's still one question to go...
Will the full game scores be fully valid from now on
*or*
Will there be 1/4 modes and full game modes?
That, is up to you decide. This poll will extend for four days.
Only full game results or quarter results too?

The rules says that it must run for at least 7 days.Hunter Killer-DF wrote:Well, looks like people haved given preference to full game scores. But there's still one question to go...

That other poll hints it is going for only 5 days...hope that was corrected.
Anyway, for both of these polls, I am confused and not totally sure what they are stating.
In short for the full game score poll(the other poll) is it where you can keep feeding in quarters as much as necessary so you actually get to play the sports game to the final buzzer/whistle where the game naturally ends?
That's what it sounds like but then how come it isn't stated like that?
It's tons more clear to state it as "play sports games with only 1 credit" and "play sports games to completion using as many credits as necessary"
Ok, so given that other poll....is this poll asking if there should be separate entries for the games for MARP records based on 1 quarter or playing the entire game using multiple credits?
I wonder the way some of these sports games are scored if by using more quarters to get through the game if you can actually leech out more points versus if you played the game on a lesser #quarters. I think this means you need some totally alternate scoring method where the #quarters used results in subtracting a substantial amount of score for specific games.
For example, if someone is good enough to actually finish the game on 1 or 2 quarters...then someone else takes 6 quarters to complete the game no way should that 6 quarter game have a score higher than the 1-2 quarter game.
Also, do these games have overtime periods? If so, isn't it likely someone could intentionally play to a tie in basketball to go to overtime so they get another few minutes of play thus more points? What if you go to a 2nd and 3rd and 4th etc. overtime? If none of these games have that feature that's fine. I'm guessing at least some of them do though....provided you pop in more credits to play the overtime period(s) of course.
Yes, I definitely think the 1-credit scores need to be kept separate since that is what MARP already has... However, I think there is also that separate issue for even the multiple-credit "full games" where using more credits could lead to higher scores...instead of higher skill leading to higher scores....something to think about.
So, can someone just confirm for me "yes, you interpretted these poll questions correctly" so I can vote?

If the scoring system stays the same (offensive points only) then the 1/4 scores can peacfully coexist with the full game scores, the full game scores will just mostly "beat" the quarter scores and eliminate themselves naturally... We really need a scoring system vote before we go to "full" full game status, as bbh already mentioned....
