Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo hidden character question

Post by JoustGod »

I've seen a few FAQs that reveal how to unleash hidden characters in this game. However, I've only been able to get Dan and Devilot to emerge but not Akuma. I've seen the left, down, left, down, left, down, and hold left while pushing any other button method, but it doesn't work. What am I missing here? Suggestions from players familiar with this game would be appreciated. Thanks!

Highlight Ryu and hold Start.
While holding Start, move down, left, down, left, down, left, down, and hold left. Then press the flip button.
So you should be holding Start and left while pressing the flip button.
You were close, just missed one down motion in the beginning there. Good luck.

[EDIT JUST TO FXXK WITH YER MIND A LIL 8O
Or, you can highlight Morrigan, hold Start, move left, down, left, down, left, down, and hold left then press the flip button. WHICH IS PRETTY MUCH THE SAME EXACT THING AS HIGHLIGHTING RYU AND DOING THAT...laters. ]

Didn't you have to push start at a certain time or something, or am I thinking of some other game?

You might have been thinking of Devilot, where you have to press the flip button when 10 seconds are left on the timer.

First off, thank you Skyline for the clarification. Looks like the only thing that was missing from what I had found was the fact that the P1 start button had to be held down throughout the sequence.

Secondly, to Matt. Yes, strange...isn't it? ;-)
