Great score and gameplay!

I will try to fight back later on when I get some money to buy a spinner. Until then I have no chance on the fast clones.(Or the ordinary ones if you get over 900k-1mil)

actually, i got really lucky on a lot of levels..

but
1) i've been playing a lot of super-breakout,
2) do you play 'off the wall' (atari)....its excellent
practice, because you get used to the faster speeds..

3) i haven't played the original arkanoid in awhile,
i was wondering why the scores for this version
were lower..

i didn't notice it was slightly faster at first..(do you know
how much faster it is?), but later on it got really really fast..

i lost a ton of men going for special powers,
i also missed a lot of power ups..

i got stuck on level 25, and lost 3 men..

i think i could finish it, if i got better power ups
for that board...

i'm not sure if the power ups are randomized,
or come out in the same place..

basically my priorities are
(are yours different?):

1) catch

switch only if its

-> laser fire
-> extend (wide)...
-> slow power

2) slow power

switch only if its
-> catch
-> laser fire
-> extend (wide)...

if i have
3) extend (wide)

switch only if its

-> catch
-> laser fire
-> slow power

if i have

4) laser fire

keep it always

....

the multi-ball option is only
when the ball is trapped above,
or if i'm feeling greedy....

any other thoughts?

Not sure why you regard the laser fire so highly. It's useless for levels where you have blocks behind the gold blocks so you can't shoot them.

It really depends on the stage. For stage 3 for example you definitely want the catch or if a ball is way up there already and a D is falling I definitely grab that cuz odds are not all 3 are gonna work their way back out so the level is over.

For fairly open levels though I totally agree cuz you can use the laser to shoo t the dropping enemies so they don't deflect the ball which is how you likely end up losing most of your men. At least that is how I lose most of my men.

i don't want to mislead people,
but please take this score with a
grain of salt..

i hadn't realized my machine
was running this game slower
than normal...(i haven't had
this problem with other games)..

which is probably why the score was
higher than usual (that, and i got
lucky)..

i've asked them to remove the
score for this game from the records..

once again, i just want to
re-iterate, this was not intentional

i'll try again with a faster machine,
or frameskip on..

You scored an incredible 711000 on centipede bootleg set2...WOW.
I remember , that clone is the one where the segments all come raining
down on the player in clusters. I used to have 3rd place until i saw what you got and promptly deleted my game, which was only 78000.
Also the Sinistar scores are great . mame default on this williams title is
far more challenging than the arcade.
