PLEASE! We really need to cool it with the splits requests! You need to know that I will not split a game based on difficulty levels alone.
Of late, three "P" games come to mind:
pang3
popnpop
puzzleb
I am only going to create splits if the game play is SUBSTANTIALLY different which would merit a split. It's OK if there are special modes such vs. computer which is common or in games such as racing or golf where there are different courses to choose from.
However, if the choices are simply practice, beginner, rookie, normal, medium, challenging, expert, pro, etc. that is not enough alone to warrant a split. Also, number of levels or total game boards won't cut it. Another example is say tempest, I won't create a Level 1 start and a Level 9 start split even though both are available. All because the gameplay is essentially the same, just the diffculty is different.
It is up to you as players to figure out which difficulty levels give you the highest score. If something like a practice mode gives high scores and are super boring recordings that don't show off the game--well we can make a rule to prohibit that mode
Remember MARP is a gamers repository. If a newbies come to this site how are they going to know which version of an original to playback if there are half a dozen splits?
