I've found the most success in recording mtrap games using the "no sound" option. When I've used sound, it tends to have playback problems. Most likely, krf recorded with sound. Until something changes, I would recommend the no sound method for anyone wanting to submit on Mouse Trap and its clones.
Haven't done that much research into it, but I know .61 and ccastle3 has the issue. Maybe JG has more for ya. In any case, to be safe, I've removed my ccastles recordings and replaced them with no sound recordings.
Barry mentioned he couldn't get my Crystal Castles working, although he is running XMAME, and it might not playback at all there. Could someone check it out? It plays fine for me without sound.
Ron, I can't get your .inp on either ccastles or ccastles2 to play back. I tried using dmame and recording an .inp myself (no sound) and was successful. The only thing I can think of is possibly an nvram issue.

Yup, that's how ccastles and ccastle2 were recorded. ccastle3 was on MAME32/W2K, and someone's apparently already looked at it and got it to play back.
All of my Crystal Castles recordings are recorded, without sound and nvram.
