Leeching in PC_SMB ?

Post by Wizard »

Now that leeching in Vs. Super Mario Bros is disallowed, i feel the same thing should happen with the playchoise version of the game. The first place is guilty of doing it bigtime.

Yeah same rules should apply. After all, it's essentially the same game.

For how many days is this poll running?

Please, if you start a poll mention how many days it runs for, and I think 7 should be the minimum number of days a poll should run and a max of 14.

Bye.

I've assumed that all polls were to be ran for 7 days, since that's what is stated in the rules. :)

Yes, you're right. Members rights point 2. I need to read all those rules pages 20 times more before I can remember them correctly

Eh? You inquiring that my rules page isn't very clear?

Nononono, that's ok, go ahead and make the rules page more clear if you think it needs improvement - just as long as all the rules are there when you update that page. :)

Hmmm... It could've been 14 days. I don't remember, GB's pages aren't very clear. :)

So, this poll is over. It was decided not to leech.

Can someone please tell me of all possible leeching techniques in this game, or is it the same as in 'suprmrio'?

I think QRS wrote in his poll about 'suprmrio' that those techniques couldn't be used in the Playchoice version.

Just zeroed it. BTW, the Turtle Jumping was already mentioned in the Special Rules for this game. Are there any more leeching techniques that should be included?

Well the only other thing is the time bug on the fire worlds (1-4 2-4 etc) where you wait for the counter to reach zero and then jump on the axe. It then gives you 999 time remaining. It's not really leeching but it's exploiting a bug in the game to boost your score higher. This was disallowed in the 'Vs' version.

Yes, I know. But while I checked Moreno's recording it seemed that it did not give you any points for time left after the X-4 stages. Only after the X-1,2,3 stages. So, I don't think you can use that bug, if its there, in this game.

Yeah, there's a whole bunch of subtle differences to make the game just slightly harder, like putting a Koopa where a Goomba is or vice versa, or taking away or adding some bricks. For example, you can't get to the minus world on Vs. Super Mario Bros. because there are two blocks missing where you would normally go through to get to the warp zone. :)
