Or BBH when he's playing Shock Troopers. ;)
:D :D

What I'm really floored by though is the Japanese skill on shooters and DDR. Going through DoDonPachi on one life, or full-perfecting MAX300 on DDRMAX... how the fuck is that possible by human beings?!

And not only is it Max300, but it's on Heavy (Maniac, SSR, etc) mode! Man! I don't see how it's humanly possible either. But, I don't see how it's humanly possible to press 20 times per second either. :)

Relating back to the Japanese and Video Games....

If the Japanese were so good at Video Games, why was Pac Man perfected by an "American" before a Japanese? Or was it perfected by the Japanese, but was never proven? Hisa, you have any information?

MAX300 "only" makes you step 10 times a second max... 300 BPM = 5 steps per second, so on the long 1/8 strings, that doubles and you have to be doing 10 steps a second to nail them. They never make you step faster than that on that song.

And then there's Pump it Up, where Mr. Larpus is a 190 BPM song and apparently makes you do 1/16 runs on Crazy... what the fuck? oh wait, that's a Korean game...

Well, I guess with A LOT of practice, patience, and concentration, anything is possible. And a good machine, of course. And that Mr. Larpus stuff is nuts. Turkey March Crazy seems like it would be pretty hard to do too, even though I have most of it down with my fingers.

I think Turkey did quite a good job on that one :-)

Are you serious? With that typical boring and lucky game of the Germans the don't even deserve to be in the Semifinals. SOUTH KOREA, SOUTH KOREA.

Bye.

Frankie ,

Either way , if Brazil and Germany make the final , no matter who wins , it'll rub Englands nose in it .

No offence to English people , but your media is a pain in the arse....1966 and all that .

Having said that, England will win Euro 2004 , and the next World Cup , according to the same media who predicted victory this year......

Perhaps I should have put the "wandering thread" comic in here instead? ;)

I notice we have another 'rubbish' player from Japan (Poor Jap) who is obviously very good but likes to think of himself and his recordings as crap!

You know, I've decided they have their right to their opinions. Maybe THEY think it sucks. It doesn't necessarily mean that we have to think it does also. :)

Did I see the same DoDonPachi recording as you? If people want to see, there's a no-miss recording available at http://www.shmups.com (see downloads)

I first saw it a few weeks back and hardly believed my eyes - I thought it was a cheat. Absolutely incredible. It probably represents the most that is humanly possible to achieve playing a videogame!
