Interesting clip.

Ouch, so that's what happened to Ron "Snipercade" Corcoran... 30 years, really?

So it's clear as the sun that the fucker is cheating on racing games at very least, and I totally want an official opinion about editors.

Here's where it raises red flags everywhere (and adding comparisons for reference):

http://replay.marpirc.net/inp/6/a/0/xyn ... olf188.zip
http://replay.marpirc.net/inp/a/9/4/kal ... olf188.zip
On contcircj he just beat my score around Suzuka and did something quite odd: he STOPPED the car instead of just trying a 1cc.

http://replay.marpirc.net/inp/b/d/3/xyn ... olf172.zip
http://replay.marpirc.net/inp/e/1/a/kal ... olf196.zip
ALL of his Pole Position inps do the same, basically beat whatever is the first place at EXACTLY whatever is my score + some cents.

http://replay.marpirc.net/inp/3/2/f/xyn ... olf159.zip
http://replay.marpirc.net/inp/b/6/e/kal ... olf199.zip
This is where the camel's toe broke.
He WATCHED my inp (cause he stole my strats) then used 0.159 (because his cheating tools don't support latest versions for some reason?) then beat whatever is my score for centiseconds TWICE.
This was the state prior to now fwiw:
Image

His excuse on my inquiry about using 0.159 was "heh, EVERYONE is doing it".
Except NOBODY sane enough wants to play any Cisco Heat HW game on pre-0.199 version NOW, with the farting sounds.
Go figure:

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/ ... twrong.mp3

How even is possible that he is so lucky EVERY EFFING TIME?

At worst, and this is CERTAIN, there's multiple sportsmanship rule violations here.
The one I like the most is the following:
assuming the 3-5 letters hashes aren't a product of a cheating tool then this is totally some kind of trolling attitude (haha I beat your score now go ahead and manipulate this hjih.inp)
There's also no way he's gonna remember exact scores with this modus operandi, for example in one of the Pole Position inps (don't remember which) he uploaded it days after the actual recording according to the WolfMAME printout. Unless he renames his inp after creation every time he needs to upload it here, which is so unoptimal that it makes my head to spin badly.

Bottom line: So yeah, care to give an opinion? :)

As far as contcircj goes, I'm not seeing the issue, he took a hit before reaching the score, the car blew up afterwards, at which point time ran out.
Haven't watched the others as yet.

As for the versions he uses, he tells me he just uses whatever version others used for that specific game. (Although for me, that just makes me ignore it more, at least for versions older than 2 years). Some sort of weird fairness thing or something, I don't get the point of it, really.

Well, if the other monkeys are using grapes, why should he use a cucumber?

When he records an inp, he uses some simple random name like abc.inp.

When the game is a keeper, he zips it and gives the zip file a descriptive name which includes the score.

At least that explains your observation, if I'm understanding you correctly. And it's pretty much the same way I handle my inp files.

That makes a (sort of) sense.
It's still not optimal even then, it means going thru the folder itself and remember which random letter you just used. And in cases like hih or hjh * it's rather easy to just mess it up and zip the wrong thing.

*Random example, just to make the idea.

Also what about managing all of these?
Regardless that he uses split or joined folder structure for inp creation based off which version of MAME he's currently using then it must be a nightmare to deal with by using random letters. And it means some sort of micromanagement which is dull at least.

imho MARP should really force newest version available, since the whole site is up on basis concepts such as
A) the scores can be compared to the real thing as far as possible, since until proven otherwise that latest is better.
B) that the devs can checkout games for possible bugs, and possibly make MAME even better.

But even if we don't agree on this, because I'm aware that either your warehouse doesn't have the requirements or you have performance issues with a specific game, it is a damn effing good practice to consider these two elements.

In this specific case scenario: TK doesn't seem to have problems with warehouse or rig anyway ...
I'm not seeing the issue, he took a hit before reaching the score, the car blew up afterwards, at which point time ran out.
I watched that thing some time ago, I remember something like getting intentionally slow or something.
But I can't be bothered in checking again also because we implicitly understand what's going on thanks also to the f1gpstr2-gb stuff he pulled off recently.

you just date sort the folder, and you have whatever the latest you recorded is at the top.

I've done the same for plenty of other things in the past

while I still think both users should have been banned ages ago for multiple rule violations, I don't think random filenames are a rule violation.

That still covers the micromanagement part, and it's not guaranteed that Windows always remember your setting for that folder (amongst other things that I won't cover here).

And my whole point is that having to checkout which damn filename he used isn't a rule violation but totally poor sportsmanship, and makes my willing to confirm jack from his inps totally non existant.

Not at all, and it'll never be, as far as I could understand, from actual moderators indifference and dumbness......
